As you surely already know, the Chinese giant Xiaomi plans to bring several major upgrades within next year’s presentation of the flagship lineup Xiaomi Mi 11. From now on, reports about the Pro model’s specs are coming in.
Even though the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro smartphones already delivered top-notch specs, times are evolving and there’s still room for a lot of innovations in different areas. According to available information, these upgrades will also come in the display department.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro with a 2K 120 Hz display
In the code of the MIUI 12 overlay, a popular leakster kacskrz appeared—who, by the way, is a member of the XDA-developers team—indicating that some Xiaomi smartphone will hit the market with a first-class display.

This display should be exceptional thanks to its 2K resolution and a refresh rate 120 Hz. A similar display panel could also be seen on this year’s “flagship” from OnePlus, called OnePlus 8 Pro.
Another interesting thing revealed in the overlay code is the variability of the display resolution. Specifically, we mean the ability to systematically change the screen resolution to improve image quality—or, alternatively, to save battery.

But as we mentioned above, it’s still not known which smartphone will carry this panel. Most likely, it will be the premium Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro, but it’s not out of the question either—e.g., Xiaomi Mi MIX 4.
What do you think about such display specs? Can you actually see a difference in using this type of panel compared to other flagship smartphones, or are these more like unnecessary extras that only push the price up? Feel free to share your opinions with us in the discussion under the article.
