Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 is supposed to be the first smartphone with Snapdragon 888+ and MIUI 13

It seems the work on the new smartphone Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 is not slowing down. Xiaomi plans to unveil this phone sometime towards the end of the year and should also pack in a processor that is not officially released yet: Snapdragon 888+. There are also speculations that it will come with the new MIUI 13 software overlay.

In the spotlight Snapdragon 888+

According to the Chinese portal MyDrivers, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 model should be the first on the market to feature the Snapdragon 888+ processor. This chip could also be called Snapdragon 888 Pro, and it’s said that it’s being tested not only by Xiaomi, but also by South Korean Samsung.

But the new reports don’t stop there. According to some leaks, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 model should be the first from Xiaomi to use the new MIUI 13 overlay. It should be unveiled in the coming months.

The first Xiaomi smartphone with MIUI 13?

MIUI 13 should focus on fixing bugs and better optimizing the system along with improved performance. It could also bring a new desktop mode that would work after connecting to an external monitor, something along the lines of Samsung Dex.

As we informed you recently, Xiaomi created a special MIUI Pioneer Group team, which will specialize in fixing bugs in MIUI 12.5 that users report. Xiaomi wants to get rid of the bad reputation it got after releasing MIUI 12, which contained a number of bugs.

We also expect some features to be added that come directly from the Android 12 operating system news. This MIUI 13 update should be available for all devices that won’t be older than two years.

Here, Xiaomi could take a cue from companies like Google, Samsung, or OnePlus, which promise up to three years of OS updates and up to four years of security patches. Maybe we’ll see something like that in the future also for Xiaomi company smartphones.
