Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 2 and Xiaomi Viomi V2 Pro are probably the most refined smart vacuums currently available from Xiaomi. Even though they look different design-wise at first sight, they don't bring any major differences in features and equipment.
Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum 2 vs Viomi V2 Pro: Small Differences
We went through several sources with specifications for both vacuums, and even though we did find only a couple of minor differences. We compiled the technical specs of both vacuums into a table, and for the sake of interest we also included older Roborock S5 and S6 models.

Our comparison won’t drag on unnecessarily. As you can see in the table, both vacuums have a lot of the same functions and the same equipment. Still, we’d first like to highlight their best key features.
Best features of the compared vacuums
Both the Mi Robot Vacuum 2 and Viomi V2 Pro have a refined laser LDS navigation system with all its benefits. In this segment of smart vacuums, it’s arguably the best you can find. The sensors in both devices can detect the space up to a distance of 8 meters. That’s why their navigation is spot-on.

In addition, they can recognize rooms—rooms can be named—and they respect not only the virtual wall drawn by the user in the app, but also no-go zones. Once the user sets a specific zone, the vacuum moves there using the shortest route and cleans the defined area without unnecessary detours. It also reliably stops before drop-offs like stairs or other height differences.

Another refined feature of both of these “cleaning helpers” is mopping. Both machines have intelligent water dosing, a water pump, and a water level sensor. That means they can’t end up wiping the floor dry, or with too much water.
In this case, mopping movement was improved too. It’s a function of repeat two-way cleaning, which means the vacuum passes through the area twice, as well as moving sideways. This method simulates manual washing motions, making the cleaning more thorough.
We also can’t not mention how the dust and water containers are handled. After purchasing both vacuums, you’ll find one full-featured dust container with a HEPA filter in the box, with a capacity of 550 ml. The manufacturer also includes a combined container with a HEPA filter, which offers 300 ml of space for dust and 200 ml for water.
If you need to mop a larger area without the vacuuming function, you can buy a separate water tank for both vacuums with a capacity of 550 ml. Its price for the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 2 is approximately 31 € / 805 kč, and for the Xiaomi Viomi V2 Pro approximately 25 € / 639 kč.
Both vacuums also have the same suction power of 2100 Pa, the same battery capacity of 3 200 mAh, and they can handle the same obstacles up to 2 cm.
Main differences
The first difference between our rivals is their size and weight. The Viomi V2 Pro vacuum cleaner is on average 2 cm smaller and has a 300 g lower weight. It’s nothing major and it probably won’t affect its operation, but for some users it could matter.

The second difference is the smartphone app you use to control the vacuum cleaner. With the Vacuum 2 vacuum cleaner, you control it using the app Mi Home, which on the Play Store has been rated more than 217,000 times and has a score of 4.5.
In comparison, the Viomi Robot app used to control the Viomi V2 Pro only received a Play Store rating of 1.8 and was reviewed 75 times.

Since the Viomi vacuum cleaner packaging features the Mijia brand logo, it’s reasonable to assume it can also be paired with the Mi Home app. However, we can’t confirm this for sure, because this model isn’t available to us in the editorial office yet.
The third and final difference, which is probably the most important one, is the selling price of both devices. Xiaomi Mi Vacuum 2 is currently sold for €276 / 7000 CZK from the Czech warehouse. Xiaomi Viomi V2 Pro is currently available in the European warehouse for €352 / 9232 CZK.

Conclusion
Both vacuum cleaners are truly top-of-the-line and can do quite a lot. The most crucial difference that decided between the Xiaomi Mi Vacuum 2 and the Xiaomi Viomi V2 Pro is the price, so we’d go with the cheaper one.
