Popular Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi officially introduced its new product in the form of an innovative content translation device labeled Xiaomi Mijia Dictionary Pen. It offers a minimalist design or an integrated display.

After the updates announced at the Chinese press conference, tech giant Xiaomi continues with more news. This includes, for example, a content translation device Xiaomi Mijia Dictionary Pen.
The new product features laser text scanning, a fast recognition system, as well as accurate software translation, multilingual translation, and a writing function.
If we look at the details, the back has an 8 MPx camera that supports scanning from multiple angles. There’s also the ability to directly read text from above, along with a laser sensor for translating text from a few lines up to an entire page.
Translation success rate at 99% and a mobile app
The recognition success rate for Chinese and English text via Xiaomi Mijia Dictionary Pen is 99%, and the accuracy rate of online as well as offline translation is comparable to competing devices from Western manufacturers.
The product includes over 15 million Chinese and English terms, sourced from professional Chinese and English materials. Specifically: „Oxford Advanced English-Chinese Dictionary“ (9th edition), „Golden Mountain Powerword“, „Students’ Modern Chinese Standard Dictionary“, „Chinese idioms dictionary“, and offline translation mode is also supported via the so-called „Old Chinese Dictionary“.
There’s also support for outputting recorded content to an external app. This lets you edit the translation, share content online, and print translated content. If you find mistakes in sentences or titles, you can also fix them from the app.
In addition, the device uses a pair of microphones and an AI noise-reduction algorithm. It supports real-time voice translation, as well as converting a voice recording into text—definitely a useful feature, especially on the go.
Price and availability of the product
Xiaomi Mijia Dictionary Pen starts selling exclusively on the Chinese market. And as part of a crowdfunding campaign through the official Xiaomi Mall retailer. The launch sales price is 699 yuan (about €95). Later it will be a bit higher at 799 yuan (about €110).
