Smart lamps have a new leader
The second generation Xiaomi Mijia night lamp is already more robust at first glance. On the strip, it grew from 100 mm to 140 mm, but from the height of 221 mm the manufacturer reduced it precisely by 21 mm.
So the lamp looks more “pillow-like”. The main upgrades include higher brightness, which now reaches maximum brightness of 400 lm.
The predecessor’s maximum brightness was 300 lm. On the other hand, the lowest brightness of the new version is only 2 lumens, which is great, for example, for falling asleep.
What hasn’t changed is the wide range of colors the lamp can produce. The lamp uses WRGB LED diodes with up to 16 million colors. Xiaomi has also added new modes to its new night lamp.
“Good morning” mode will gradually wake you up so getting up is as pleasant as possible. In night mode, which imitates sunset, you’ll fall asleep like a baby.
All modes, color temperature, and color spectrum can be adjusted through the app on your smartphone.
Besides the Mi Home app of its own, this time Xiaomi also brings Apple HomeKit support, which will please iPhone owners.
A completely new feature is voice control, which works via Siri or the XiaoAI assistant. But if you have the lamp within reach, you can also control brightness using the physical dimmer on the front. There’s also a power on/off button for the lamp there.
