Now we can rejoice. The Chinese giant has officially announced when it will present the third generation of its foldable MIX Fold smartphone. On top of that, it also gave us a glimpse of its curves.
New poster and Leica cameras
We learned all of this from the poster that Xiaomi shared on social networks on Twitter and Weibo. It shows the rear module made up of as many as four lenses.
They are arranged into a square shape, and in the shade you can also see the text Leica, which means that even with these cameras, the cooperation will definitely reflect in their high quality.
One of the lenses is especially interesting—clearly visible, it will be a periscope telephoto lens, which will push photography with foldable smartphones to a new level again.
Vegan leather on the back
The back will be covered with a material similar to Xiaomi 13 Ultra, meaning vegan leather, which looks very elegant at first glance and won’t slip in your hands.
Xiaomi has also shared a video showing even more. At first glance, it’s clear that this year too the smartphone will be truly thin, so even when folded it will be very close to traditional smartphones.
New hinge and high performance
This year, the Chinese giant will definitely work on the hinge itself, which should bring more flexibility in its positions—along with that, the environment will also be adjusted by MIUI 14.
In terms of performance, Xiaomi will go with the current best, in the form of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. As for camera quality, we should expect the same photo setup as in the case of Xiaomi 13 Ultra.
Launch coming soon
From the poster, you can also glean one more important piece of information: the presentation will take place already on August 14 at 13:00 our time. However, we expect that this year, too, the smartphone will remain exclusive to the domestic market.
