Xiaomi Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro: 11.2″ 144 Hz display and the new HyperOS 2.0 system
Xiaomi brings its Pad 7 series in an aluminum design, with the front camera placed in landscape orientation. The tablets have a slim body measuring only 6,18 mm and a reasonable weight of 500 grams (without accessories). However, the manufacturer also built in support for original accessories such as a keyboard or stylus, via a trio of magnetic pins on the back.
The main highlight is the large IPS LCD display with a diagonal of 11.2″, which has a very sharp 3.2K resolution and a practical 3:2 aspect ratio. That results in a sharpness of 345 ppi. The refresh rate of this panel is high, up to 144 Hz.
The display offers DCI-P3 color gamut, 12-bit colors, Dolby Vision, HDR, as well as a maximum brightness of 800 nits. A special matte display version will also be available, for an extra fee.
The main differences between the pair: Snapdragon processor and AI camera
The base Xiaomi Pad 7 comes with an integrated upper mid-range processor. It is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. The more expensive and better-equipped Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro will rely on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.
The main cameras are different in quality as well. Xiaomi Pad 7 offers a 13 MPx AI camera, while Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro impresses with up to a 50 MPx AI main sensor. Charging speed is different too, but we’ll get to that in the next chapter.
HyperCore: A new operating system core arrives with HyperOS 2.0
A major change is the new HyperOS 2.0 software update. This system brings a new HyperCore engine, making its debut in this smartphone series. The core uses RAM memory and cache efficiently, but it doesn’t overburden the fast UFS storage. This ensures a secure, smooth system run with fast animations and optimized battery power consumption.
This software will be available not only for the Xiaomi Pad 7 and Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro tablets, but also for Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro smartphones, smartwatches, or smart TVs running HyperOS.
Other features include up to 4 stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, as well as advanced AI + AR features integrated into the system. The battery capacity is 8850 mAh in both cases. Another advantage is fast charging support with up to 45 W on the base model, and up to 67 W on the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro. After 20 minutes of charging, you can get up to 40%.
