Compact mobile phones still have their fan base and, even in the era of large screens, they are extremely popular. The only problem is their lack.
Xiaomi also has a compact smartphone in its portfolio, and it is the Mi 9 SE from last year—however, it can no longer be bought, and with its successor, things have not looked very rosy so far.
Will we finally get a compact Xiaomi smartphone?
The current smartphone trend focuses mainly on increasing screen sizes. That’s why it might seem like the group of users who prefer “small” phones has already been forgotten. Xiaomi is also one of the companies that has been moving toward larger displays, but that could change with the release of a compact smartphone.
According to new statements from the product manager of Redmi, we might, after all, be able to look forward to the long-awaited compact smartphone from the Chinese company this year.
Wang Teng Thomas, in fact, confirmed that Xiaomi / Redmi is thinking about producing smartphones with smaller displays again. The exact screen size has not been mentioned yet.
The SE series could be revived
However, a final decision has not yet been made. There could be a problem with integrating new hardware components into a smartphone with compact dimensions.

These claims from Xiaomi leave the door open to the possibility that the SE smartphone series could appear again in the lineup among the many devices already available. The compact smartphone market is still closely watched, but not every manufacturer is brave enough to continue producing them.
These are definitely positive news, because not everyone likes large displays. What about you? Do you prefer smaller screen sizes?
