Xiaomi brings a new benefit in the form of the popular YouTube Premium membership. Customers will get this service completely free when they purchase a selected device from the Xiaomi ecosystem, meaning the brands Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO.
Xiaomi offers YouTube Premium membership when you buy a new smartphone
After the new smartphones were introduced under the POCO sub-brand, Xiaomi also announced a new partnership with the well-known YouTube service. The collaboration includes a free trial period of the premium service called YouTube Premium on selected devices.
Xiaomi brand customers can get up to three months of YouTube Premium membership, completely free. The service comes with benefits like ad-free YouTube content, the option to watch offline, or using the YouTube app in the background.
The subscription also includes YouTube Music Premium. This service provides unlimited, ad-free access to over 80 million songs, as well as live performances, alternative cover versions, and remixes.
“Since users consume more and more online video content every year, we believe it’s important to let users experience high-quality content in new ways. We’re happy to partner with YouTube so that Xiaomi customers can watch the content they love without interruption. We hope this will be the beginning of a long-term relationship between us and YouTube, which will ultimately benefit our users.” said Hanson Han, Director of Business Development at Xiaomi International.
You can claim this benefit in the form of YouTube Premium on selected smartphones from the Xiaomi ecosystem by opening the preinstalled YouTube app (it will show the activation steps). You’ll also find the steps by opening the youtube.com/premium page. For more information about activation, check the official Xiaomi website and the official POCO website.
What’s more, this partnership is not limited to Xiaomi devices only—selected Redmi and POCO smartphones will also get the new feature. However, the Redmi brand (Redmi Note 11 series) and the POCO brand (POCO X4 Pro 5G and M4 Pro smartphones) state that they offer only two months of support of YouTube Premium for their customers.
