At the beginning of June, we informed you that Xiaomi is preparing to unveil a new generation of its televisions. It should be called Xiaomi Mi TV 6 and will bring software upgrades for even better picture and sound.
Launch coming soon
The Xiaomi Mi TV 6 smart TV series should be officially revealed in just a few days, specifically on 28. June. The company has already started teasing some software features that will make watching movies and series even more enjoyable.
We’re talking about technologies named IMAX Enhanced and Dolby Vision IQ. The first one mentioned will deliver a very similar viewing experience to what a TV audience can enjoy when visiting an IMAX cinema. It will help you immerse yourself even more in the story thanks to a perfect visual experience.
Dolby Vision IQ will provide better display based on brightness and the range of colors present. It’s something similar to HDR10 +. The picture will be more detailed and more dynamic.
Earlier, Xiaomi already presented that this Xiaomi Mi TV 6 series should offer an exceptional picture compared to the competition. On the global market, older TV models such as Xiaomi Mi TV 4S, Mi TV P1 and Mi TV Q1 have appeared.
A professional QLED panel plus direct Xbox integration
Xiaomi has revealed more specs for the Xiaomi Mi TV 6 series. The most interesting new feature is that the display panel will be QLED. That means a much nicer picture and deeper color depth.
However, this won’t be the first time Xiaomi uses this technology, since they already have the Mi TV Q1 model with this panel in their portfolio. Still, the Mi TV 6 series should bring professional color rendering with a ΔE index of approximately 1.5. Mi TV 6 will also use 3D LUT color correction technology for the first time in its history—something that’s often used in the film industry.
You’ll also get full XBOX integration, which means that some cooperation between Xiaomi and Microsoft has taken place.
It will also come with AMD Freesync technology, which takes care of eliminating input lag when gaming. This is again useful for gamers who want to connect a new generation of gaming consoles to it. You’ll also get support for HDMI in the new standard 2.1 and Wi‑Fi 6. It looks like Xiaomi’s new TVs will mainly target gamers.
Will we see them in the global market too?
The new Xiaomi Mi TV 6 series should deliver the best that Xiaomi can offer right now. The price hasn’t been announced yet, nor have offers for the screen size options. But we can find out these details during this week, right before the actual presentation.
There’s also the question of whether they’ll be available globally or stay as a premium product intended for the Chinese market. We’ll have to wait just under a week to find out.
