The company Xiaomi has introduced a new model of a robot vacuum cleaner with rotating mops and up to a 5200 mAh battery. It’s called Xiaomi Mijia All Round Sweeping and Mopping Robot and, besides, it also impresses with a fairly low noise level.

Right away, we can see that this model, Xiaomi Mijia All Round Sweeping and Mopping Robot, joins the rest of Xiaomi’s vacuum cleaner lineup with its design. It has a matte white color finish with a cutout for 3D scanning and an output for a laser sensor. The vacuum will also be available in a version that includes a 2.5-liter emptying station, which will match the vacuum’s color.
The main advantage of this new model is the debut of a navigation system (S-Cross AITM), which is made up of 3D maps. The vacuum gets them thanks to a built-in sensor on the front and using artificial intelligence. Laser scanning then helps an algorithm choose the most efficient cleaning route. As a result, the vacuum avoids obstacles, which also speeds up the cleaning itself.
However, it also brings high performance. The integrated electric motor provides suction power of up to 4000 Pa, which you can use not only for vacuuming but also for mopping. It also has low noise—low 68 dB. The mop has been improved, too, and this model offers two rotating heads on the underside of the construction. This generation of the mop should be more effective compared to older wiping in the direction of the letter ypsilon.
The mop also includes replaceable cloths that are antibacterial and it has an intelligent surface-recognition function. If the vacuum detects a carpet, it lifts its rotating brushes to eliminate moisture from that surface. The brushes are then deep-cleaned in the emptying station as well, thanks to attachments at the bottom of it.
The vacuum is smart and supports connectivity with the mobile app Xiaomi Home. This app lets you divide rooms, do zone-based cleaning, and also set virtual barriers that the vacuum should not cross and continue past. The equipment also includes a fairly large battery with a capacity of 5200 mAh. This provides good battery life—about 3 hours per single charge.
Price and availability of the new robot vacuum cleaner
The Xiaomi Mijia All Round Sweeping and Mopping Robot is starting to be sold so far only in the Chinese market. The official selling price is around 4599 yuan (in China there will also be a so-called “Early bird price”, temporarily reduced to just 3999 yuan). In the current conversion, that’s 653 € respectively, temporarily reduced to 568 €. We don’t have any further information yet about international availability.
