At its recent press conference, Xiaomi introduced not only its new smartphones from the “T” series, but also the premium smartwatch Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro. These stand out not only with their aggressive price compared to competing models, but also with the WearOS operating system from Google, which was a notable surprise.

The presence of this operating system opens the door to several new services compared to predecessors with a closed system. Still, this isn’t the only novelty of this model. The watch also includes a sensor that will revolutionize the way your body data is measured. We’re talking about the impedance sensor, meaning a body condition sensor.

Your body composition and improved analysis

However, this is not a completely new feature in Xiaomi’s product ecosystem. This sensor, for example, appeared in the presentation for the previous watches Xiaomi Watch S2, which were the first to bring a similar technology to the lineup.

This sensor is part of a powerful body-measurement system through a wrist-worn device, and it’s especially suitable for those who want to accurately assess their physical condition.

“Impedance sensor” is a bit of a shortened name for this sensor. If we were to name it in full, it would be more like “Bioelectrical impedance sensor”. The main job of this sensor is to emit and receive electrical impulses from your body. These are emitted from your body, pass through your body, and are measured in real time.
