Xiaomi Watch H1: New health watches with blood pressure measurement and EKG

You probably remember the first smartwatches with heart blood pressure monitoring from the Chinese brand Huawei, which also started being sold on the Slovak market. Something similar is now what Chinese Xiaomi is aiming for as well, in the form of a new model Xiaomi Watch H1—but it also adds EKG functionality and certifications for measuring health data using a wearable device.

At first glance, it may seem like these are just ordinary new smartwatches with a slightly bulkier design. But the secret is hidden behind thicker bezels and an unusual strap.

The Chinese manufacturer received a certification for a Class II medical device (Chinese certificate from the Food and Drug Administration, editor’s note). And thanks to the pad in the strap, it can measure blood pressure. It also includes voice alerts for the results and notifications for the next scheduled measurement.

1.43″ AMOLED, Bluetooth 5.2 and a mobile app

What’s more, the lineup also includes EKG activity measurement and other health features, such as heart rate, blood oxygen level (SpO2), skin-surface body temperature measurement, and sleep monitoring (including recognition of REM stages). In the algorithm that tracks measurements across different groups of people, professional hospitals in China also collaborate.

Another new feature of these smartwatches is precise 6-axis fall detection. If you get injured, these smartwatches can automatically trigger emergency calls for help. You can also set emergency contacts from your list on the watch, and the watch can display your health card as well, including allergies, chronic conditions, blood type, and current treatment.

Of course, you can also use the standard options for tracking sports activities. You have access to more than 100 sports, some with automatic recognition or running courses to help improve your running technique. The body of these watches is made from an aluminum alloy and has an IP 68 certification for resistance.

You can view your data on the 1.43″ AMOLED screen. Physical controls are located on the right side—two buttons. Other features include a speaker for announcing measurement results and Bluetooth calls, Bluetooth 5.2 technology for smooth and fast pairing with your smartphone, and an NFC chip for mobile payments.

In the Xiaomi mobile app, you can also share your health data or oxygen monitoring with your family or close friends. The built-in battery offers up to 9 days of battery life on a single charge and supports magnetic charging.
