Our favorite Chinese tech manufacturer, Xiaomi, is preparing its next generation of the MIUI interface, called MIUI 15. And this version is set to eliminate even that Achilles' heel of this popular interface.
MIUI 15 will eliminate the interface’s crucial Achilles' heel
As a matter of fact, MIUI software itself had quite a few bugs a few years ago. These vulnerabilities could affect everyday use, including, for example, visual glitches. The manufacturer started with major fixes around the generational switch between MIUI 13 and MIUI 14.
And the main vulnerability that remained part of the interface even after the release of MIUI 14 is the lack of incoming notifications. That well-known bug should finally be fixed for good in MIUI 15. This should deliver a better user experience and highlight how advanced this interface is.
Plus, it’s not exactly a bug in the usual sense. It’s more of a MIUI software policy that applies its power-saving settings in this case.
Closing apps in the background, and restricting internet connectivity
MIUI automatically closes apps that have been running in the background for some time without you noticing. It also sometimes blocks an app from connecting to the internet so the smartphone can save on transferred data. That’s the reason behind some missing notifications.
Xiaomi is implementing a new power-saving policy precisely in the upcoming MIUI 15 generation. This update should eliminate the bug mentioned above. The Chinese manufacturer may also add the needed codes to the built-in app MIUI Security, which optimizes data and power usage.
In the past, you could eliminate this issue by allowing apps to run in the background, but that impacted battery life. Thanks to these improvements, though, you won’t have to worry about losing some of your notifications anymore. And regardless of whether you use the Chinese ROM version or the global ROM version.
The new generation of the MIUI interface, called MIUI 15, should be officially unveiled alongside flagship devices from the Xiaomi 14 series. However, we still don’t know the official date of the press conference. It should take place within the next few weeks. For now, though, you can check the list of supported devices for the fifteenth generation of this software.
