Our favorite Chinese tech giant Xiaomi is getting ready for a new lineup of its flagship devices. It will also include the Xiaomi 15 Pro model, which will be made for the Chinese market only. In the global version, you can then expect just the remaining pair Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
Xiaomi 15 Pro will be available exclusively on the Chinese market
New information has been revealed by the well-known tipster going by the nickname Experience More. He emphasized that Xiaomi usually uses mythological characters as code names for its numbered flagship devices. And that’s where the interesting details start. Xiaomi 15 Pro, labeled as “Haotian,” refers to the highest god in ancient Chinese mythology, suggesting strong confidence in the device’s capabilities.
The tipster also shared the model number 24101PNB7, indicating it will be an exclusive device for the Chinese market only. On top of that, on the social network Weibo he revealed that Xiaomi 15 (model number 24129PN74C) has the code name “Dada,” while Xiaomi 15 Pro keeps the code name “Haotian.”
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor and re-tuning scheduled for October
A new flagship chip will handle the performance of these devices: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. This processor will be unveiled in October 2024, with its exclusive debut coming specifically with the Xiaomi 15 series.
The pair of Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro models should remain largely unchanged, at least in terms of design. A compact and slightly curved screen on the front won’t be missing. The rear camera module may be subtly adjusted, depending on how the individual elements are arranged.
In addition to standard upgrades, the entire series can also boast an ultrasonic under-screen fingerprint sensor. It will also offer a periscope telephoto lens, a large but not yet specified battery capacity, improved water resistance, and the operating system HyperOS in the 2.0 version, directly from Xiaomi.
The fourth quarter should bring a press conference for the Chinese versions of the models Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro. From this pair, only Xiaomi 15 will be available on the global market. The slightly better-equipped Xiaomi 15 Ultra will then go on sale in the first half of 2025. Its shortened code name should be Q1. And it should also appear in the global version after a few weeks’ delay.
