Reader Maroš ordered a Xiaomi 17T Pro via the link from our article at GShopper, and according to his own words, he waited almost two months for it. The phone, however, was already at the end of September at the DPD depot in Poprad, from where the courier was supposed to take it to the locker in Spišská Nová Ves. Instead, the package was turned around and went back across the border. At home, Maroš got it only on 23rd October, when the courier SPS delivered it to him. We went through his post and tracked both shipments to show where things went wrong and how the package ultimately made it home.
Maroš got in touch with us after unboxing, when he was surprised by the 100 W charger in the box. You can find his first reaction and photos of the packaging in the article about the Xiaomi 17T Pro. Now, in our Facebook group, he described the entire journey of the package, and right at the start he wrote that his experience was “very good and very bad”.
Reader Maroš review
He shared the experience on Saturday in a post in our Facebook group. We shortened and edited his text, adjusting only punctuation:
My experience ordering a phone from China via the link from the Xiaomi Planet article: very good and very bad. Of course, the good part is with Deal Planet, where I had full support. The bad part is that I waited almost two months for the phone.
The whole tragedy is that they don’t have any call center at all. Only email. (…) Here, support from Xiaomi Planet came into play. It’s a huge advantage because you’re not dealing with it alone. They were in contact with me the whole time, found the tracking number and handled everything with their contact at Gshopper.
You don’t have such support even in Slovak e-shops. And what’s important is that with their support I get a global flag for up to almost 200 € cheaper, plus a charging 100 W adapter—which doesn’t exist for SK.

The parcel was in Poprad; two days later it went back
DPD received the package on Wednesday 23. September and had it in transit the same day. Maroš redirected the shipment in the DPD app to a locker, so he could pick up the phone when it suited him. The app then showed that the package was traveling from the depot in Poprad to Spišská Nová Ves and that it would be delivered to him. The message that it was waiting in the locker never arrived. On Friday 25. September, the tracking showed the status “Return to sender”, and since then DPD tracking hasn’t moved.
Maroš sent an email to DPD as soon as he saw the change and asked them not to send the package anywhere from Poprad and to deliver it to him. The reply came quickly, but it wasn’t a pleasant one. Supposedly, the shipment was already outside Slovakia and DPD has no control over it.
They blamed the whole mistake on the human factor. Maroš had no place to call and explain it to a real person, because with DPD communication was only possible via email. According to him, one phone call would have been enough—so the courier could verify where the package was supposed to go.
Why did Maroš order from GShopper?
At the time of purchase, Maroš paid 615 € for the phone. In NAY he saw it for 769 €, and on top of that he would still have to buy a charger, because the Slovak version doesn’t include it. That’s why he writes that the phone was “almost €200 cheaper”. The global version from GShopper includes a original 100 W adapter that separately costs around 30 €.
Today, prices have shifted a bit. For the 512 GB version, Gshopper asks for 646 € and the cheapest Slovak shop on Heureka 623 €, so when you factor in the charger, the purchase for this memory size will cost roughly the same in both shops.
The bigger difference remained with the 1 TB version, which costs 705 € in Gshopper and from 835 € in Slovakia. With Standard Shipping, VAT and customs duty are already included in the price, and you don’t pay anything extra on receipt.

What we did while the phone was on its way back
Gshopper is one of the stores where we have our own person who handles orders for our readers. When Maroš got in touch, the whole case was taken over by Kristián, who runs Xiaomi Planet and communicates with customers directly. He found the tracking number and handled everything straight with our contact at Gshopper. Luckily, the package didn’t return all the way to China, but only to the carrier, who receives shipments for Gshopper in Europe. From there, they sent it back again—this time by Austrian Post—and Maroš didn’t have to pay anything extra for the second dispatch.
Between the status “Return to sender” and the new label, less than three weeks passed. That’s how long it took for the package to get back to the carrier and for it to be matched there with the original order, so it could leave again to Maroš. Kristián was in contact with Maroš the whole time, so Maroš knew everything and didn’t have to write to anyone himself abroad.
Second attempt via Vienna and Turin
The new label for Austrian Post was created on Wednesday 14. October, and on Monday 19. October the package was at a sorting center in Vienna. Even this time, it didn’t go entirely smoothly, because in the early hours of Tuesday, one of the Austrian facilities marked it as a wrongly directed shipment. Still, later that evening they handed it over to the Eurodis partner network, which delivers Austrian Post shipments to other countries.
Then Turín also appeared in the tracking, just an hour and a half after it was handed over in Austria. In that amount of time, the package couldn’t make it to Italy, so it’s probably a system record from the Eurodis network. It arrived in Slovakia on Thursday 22. October evening in Ivanka pri Dunaji, and on Friday morning at 9:06 it was already on its way to Maroš. It was delivered at 10:42 and the entire second trip lasted, according to the tracking, ten days.
In Slovakia, the package was delivered by Slovak Parcel Service, and Maroš praises their approach. In the morning, he received a message on Viber with the courier’s phone number, so if anything went wrong, he would know immediately who to call.

What do you get when you shop through our link?
Maroš bought it on his own—just by clicking the orange button in our article. Thanks to that, we could see his order in the system, and we had something to work with when the package went out of view. You’ll get the same support with every purchase that goes through our links:
- we handle a lost, returned, or undelivered package directly with the shop,
- at Gshopper, DHgate, Banggoode, Geekbuying and TradingShenzhen we have our own contact,
- we’ll help with a claim, missing items in the package, and changing the address in the order,
- even before you buy, we’ll check the seller, the phone version, and whether the coupon works,
- if the package is missing the European plug, we’ll send you the adapter for free.
Support costs you nothing and it doesn’t increase the item price by even a cent, because the shop pays us a small commission. To make sure we can see your order, shop in Chrome, turn off ad blocking and cashback extensions, and don’t leave several days pass between clicking the link and making the payment. We wrote down all the benefits and the detailed process in the article about the advantages of buying from China via Xiaomi Planet.
If you don’t want to deal with it yourself, we’ll handle your order at Gshopper for you. You’ll send the money to us by bank transfer, we’ll order the phone directly to your address, and the fee for this service is €15. You can write to us at info(@)xiaomiplanet.sk or on Messenger.
You ask about the warranty with every phone. Gshopper states a two-year warranty in Europe for this version of the Xiaomi 17T Pro, and the claim is handled through them. If you order through our link, we’ll help you with it via the same contact who handled Maroš’s package.
