Redmi just won’t be cheap anymore! Note 17 Pro Max gets a brutal 9210 mAh battery and the price will shoot up quite a lot

Xiaomi is probably already working intensively on another smartphone from the extremely popular Redmi Note series. New leaks on the internet reveal the model Redmi Note 17 Pro Max.

Although the manufacturer hasn’t confirmed anything officially yet, available information suggests you’re looking at a very interesting mid-range smartphone. The biggest draw should be a huge silicon-carbide battery with a capacity of up to 9210 mAh, complemented by 100 W fast charging.

A big AMOLED display and a new Snapdragon 6 Gen 5

According to leaked renders, the new model will be very similar in design to the Redmi Note 17 Pro. The difference will mainly be in the camera module, where the LED flash will move to the top-right corner, and the back will get the label “50MP OIS Camera”. The smartphone should be available in black, green, gray, and purple, although the purple version is not shown in the published renders yet.

The front should be dominated by a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2772 × 1280 pixels, meaning 1.5K. Smoothness will be handled by a 120 Hz refresh rate, while the display’s maximum brightness should reach up to 3500 nits. Durable Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 glass will provide protection, so the display should handle even demanding everyday use.

Redmi Note 17 Pro Max leak

Performance should be handled, according to current information, by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor. Xiaomi hasn’t officially confirmed its use yet, but leaks also mention configurations with 8 GB or 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and storage options of 128 GB, 256 GB, or even 512 GB.

50 MPx camera and record battery

The camera setup should include a 50 MPx main camera with optical image stabilization and an 8 MPx ultra-wide sensor. On the front, there should be a 32 MPx selfie camera, suitable for video calls and selfies.

The biggest highlight of the upcoming smartphone is undoubtedly its battery. According to data from the European EPREL database, it should have a capacity of up to 9210 mAh, and the manufacturer will back it with 100 W fast charging. The database also shows standby time of up to 79 hours and 16 minutes on a single charge, which would make it one of the best values among today’s smartphones.

Add IP69K and ultra-fast UFS 4.0 storage

New information from European sellers also reveals a few details that were missing in the first leaks. In Redmi Note 17 Pro Max, Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 should use an octa-core processor with a maximum frequency of 2.6 GHz, while 8 GB LPDDR5X RAM will be complemented by a surprisingly fast UFS 4.0 storage option with a capacity of 256 or 512 GB.

Another clear plus should be improved durability with certifications IP68 and IP69K, so the phone will be protected not only against dust and water immersion, but also against strong jets of water. According to new data, the European Pro Max will be available in black, green, and a pink-violet color called Cloud Blush.

How much will Redmi Note 17 cost in Europe?

Along with information about the global versions, the first prices for the entire Redmi Note 17 series for the European market have also appeared. Xiaomi will introduce four models globally: Redmi Note 17 4G, Redmi Note 17 5G, Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G, and the top-of-the-line Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G.

The base Note 17 should already start in Europe with a configuration of 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The global version should also get a 108 MP main camera, and be available in at least black, blue, and purple.

The cheapest Redmi Note 17 4G, according to leaked information, should start at around €249 for the 4 + 128 GB version, while the 6 + 256 GB configuration should cost €300. For the Redmi Note 17 5G with 6 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, Xiaomi is expected to charge around €400.

Redmi Note 17 Pro Max

The higher-end Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G in the 6 + 256 GB configuration should be priced at €479, and the full flagship of the series, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, should cost around €599. The 512 GB storage option will be €50 more, so roughly €649.

What’s interesting is that in some European countries, Xiaomi may offer, for the same price, an in-store bundle with the Redmi Watch 6 smart watch. These are preliminary prices for the European market, so they could still change slightly at the official launch.

It’s worth noting that none of this information has been officially confirmed and it’s based on internet leaks. All the specs listed come from leaked renders and data from a European battery database. The final lineup and the launch date could therefore still change.
