Xiaomi massaging comb Mijia Smart Head Massage Comb looks like a hairbrush. However, it massages your head with 78 teeth that mimic finger movements, and during the massage it applies serum directly to the roots via seven metal balls. The liquid is heated by a graphene surface and a ring of red light LEDs. In China, Xiaomi sells it directly; we have a coupon for the China version from the seller GShopper.

Massage that mimics fingers
The main work is done by 78 soft teeth with a rounded tip. The head rotates in a regular rhythm, and the teeth open and close as it moves. According to the manufacturer, it gently and evenly kneads the skin. It’s meant to feel like a finger massage—the kind your hairdresser does when washing your hair.
Xiaomi states the noise level as 37,1 dB(A), so during the massage the comb makes more of a soft hum than a buzz. The quiet operation was also confirmed by the Chinese testing lab CVC. The massage is turned on by long-pressing the button on the handle, while a short press switches modes.
Graphene and red light heat the serum
At the center of the head there is a graphene surface that warms up and, according to the manufacturer, emits infrared waves in the 6 to 14 µm range. Around it, a ring of red LEDs glows with a wavelength of 640 to 660 nm. The heat warms the posts and the serum, so the serum on your skin isn’t cold.
The heating has its own button that lets you switch between the first level, second level, and off. Xiaomi doesn’t promise any miracles. On its own website it states that the comb is not a medical device and makes no specific effectiveness claims. Wavelengths are manufacturer parameters. And the fact that your hair will grow faster doesn’t follow from that.
The serum goes through 7 balls straight to the roots
On the back of the head there’s a reservoir with a soft cap and markings for 1 ml and 3 ml. Xiaomi recommends pouring in a maximum of 3 ml at a time so you don’t waste serum. The liquid then flows to seven metal posts with a ball at the end.
When the balls glide over your skin, they press inward and the serum flows between the hairs. If you want it to flow faster, just press on the reservoir cap. In the separate serum mode, the teeth expand into an angle that—according to Xiaomi—is best for application. You enable this mode in the Mi Home app.
You have to buy the serum separately; it’s not included in the package. Xiaomi recommends thin, water-based serums for the scalp, and it also specifically mentions solutions containing minoxidil. If you want to use it, consult a doctor or a pharmacy first. Conditioners, masks, creams, and hair oils don’t belong in the reservoir. After each use, you need to rinse it out; otherwise the posts will clog.
Mi Home, six modes, and 9 days on one charge
The comb has five preset modes: gentle, soothing, stimulating, graphene, and serum-only mode. You assemble the sixth one yourself in the Mi Home app, where you set the mode, intensity, and massage duration. You can start massage, heating, and serum application separately or all at once.
Inside there’s a battery with a capacity of 2000 mAh. At the first massage level and with 10 minutes per day, it lasts about 9 days according to Xiaomi. With heating and light, it will probably last less. It charges via USB-C at 5 V and 1 A; the cable is included. No adapter is included, so the Chinese plug won’t bother you. A regular mobile phone charger is enough.
IPX7: You can rinse the comb under running water
You can use the comb on dry hair, and thanks to its IPX7 rating, you can also use it in the shower. On dry hair, it detangles your strands, and while washing it massages your scalp. After that, just rinse the whole thing under the tap—beforehand, be sure to tightly close the rubber cover over the charging port.
The body measures 215 × 87 × 51 mm. It weighs about 280 g—slightly more than a large smartphone. So it won’t take up much space in the bathroom or in your suitcase. For travel, you get a fabric pouch and a clear protective cover that keeps the teeth away from dust.
Three colors and a gift package
The surface has a pearlescent coating with an additional UV layer, so it feels smooth to the touch. Xiaomi offers it in three colors: titanium gold, purple, and amber red. Before you place an order, check in the seller’s options which color you’ll receive.
In the box, you get—besides the comb—a cover for the teeth, a pouch, a USB-C charging cable, an instruction manual, and a quick guide. Xiaomi also includes a gift bag, so you can give the comb right away without extra packaging.
What to keep in mind for the Chinese version
GShopper sells the Chinese version. If you want to connect it to the Mi Home app, you’ll need to switch the region in the app to Mainland China. The manual is in Chinese, and the comb controls in the app may also be partly in Chinese. Without the app, though, the comb works normally—the buttons on the handle turn the massage on, switch modes, and activate heating.
When you file a claim, expect that it will be handled through the GShopper seller. If you have any issues with your order, you can also reach out to us—because we have direct contact with GShopper.
