The upcoming phone Poco M2 Pro is slowly becoming a reality. The device hidden under the label M2003J6CI has passed certification by Wi-Fi Alliance and Bluetooth SIG. That means we can expect its launch in the near future.
This year, the Poco brand is really picking up pace
Poco is a brand known mainly for its affordable phones. At the very beginning of this year, it unveiled two phones: it was Poco X2 and Poco F2 Pro – the successor to the very successful Poco F1.
New Poco M2 Pro should round out the lineup and place itself among this year’s most affordable Poco smartphones.
According to current information, it looks like POCO M2 Pro will be made only for India, and what’s more, it will be just a rebranded Redmi Note 9S (in India as Redmi Note 9 Pro).
Snapdragon 720G and a big battery
According to the latest information, the phone will have a Qualcomm processor, specifically the 720G Octa core (2.3 GHz, Dual core, Kryo 465 + 1.8 GHz, Hexa Core, Kryo 465).
A new trend among manufacturers recently is to increase battery capacity. So Poco decided to put a huge 5020 mAh battery into its M2 Pro with 30 W fast charging, ensuring several days of battery life.
The phone should offer a high-quality 6.67-inch LCD IPS Display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and 395 ppi. As for the cameras Poco F2 Pro will have four cameras.
A main camera with 48 MPx resolution, an 8 MPx ultrawide, a 5 MPx macro camera, and a 2 MPx camera for background blur; the front selfie camera should be 16 MPx.
The phone’s internal storage is expected to be 64 GB, with the option to expand storage using a memory card up to 512 GB. RAM capacity should be 4 GB. The manufacturer didn’t forget the 3.5 mm audio jack or an infrared port for controlling household appliances. Of course, it comes with the latest version of Android 10 with MIUI 11 as the custom skin.
Price of Poco M2 Pro in India
The price for the Indian market should be 13,999 Rs, which is about 170 euros. We don’t know the exact launch date yet, but based on the certifications obtained, we can assume it will be unveiled within the following weeks.
