The new flagship smartphone branded Redmi K40 will also come to Europe. The global version will be called POCO F3, and the smartphone has already passed the required certification. We already have more information about the upcoming smartphone.
Global version of Redmi K40: POCO F3
The new POCO F3 was listed in FCC certification, so we can finally confirm it will be the global version of the Redmi K40 model. The global version should offer an almost identical design and technical specs—practically only the logo should change.
In that case, it should be a 5G smartphone with a Snapdragon 870 processor along with a 6 / 8 GB RAM configuration of LPDDR5 and fast storage of 128 / 256 GB of the UFS 3.1 type.
As for the display, you should get a Samsung E4 panel of the AMOLED type with a 6.67″ diagonal, Full HD+ resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels), and a high refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. There will also be a 360 Hz touch sampling rate, brightness up to 1300 nits, and HDR 10+ support.
The setup won’t lack a 48 MPx camera and 33W charging
The device dimensions should be around 163,7 x 76,4 x 7,8 millimeters. Weight is 196 grams, making this one of the lightest smartphones around. The battery will have a capacity of 4520 mAh and will support Quick Charge 3+ with powerful 33W wired charging.
Other features won’t be missing either: stereo speakers with Hi-Res certification and Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and an infrared port. You’ll also get a linear motor with an X-axis and a fingerprint reader placed on the side edge.

On the back, there will be 3 cameras. This will include a main 48 MPx sensor, a 8 MPx ultra-wide sensor, and a 5 MPx tele-macro sensor. According to the available information, it won’t have optical image stabilization. The front camera will offer 20 MPx.
The code name of the original Redmi K40 model is M2012K11AC, and the global version of POCO F3 has almost the exact same number – M2012K11AG, or the variant M2012K11AI. The EHS and TUV certifications revealed that the model with the AG suffix will debut on global markets as POCO F3. This claim was also confirmed by the aforementioned FCC certification.
Price and availability of the product
We don’t yet know the official launch date of the global smartphone under the POCO F3. name. However, we expect an official unveiling sometime during March or April 2021. The sales price isn’t known either, but the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage configuration shouldn’t exceed €350 / $420.
