Xiaomi is also thinking about kids, and it has finally launched smartwatches on the global market: the Xiaomi Smart Kids Watch. They support video calls and also include a built-in GPS module.
Kids smart watch
These are smartwatches made for kids, and they will launch in two colors: blue and pink. The specific dimensions are 54.4 x 41.4 x 14.6 mm, with a pleasant weight of 52 grams. There’s also 2 ATM water-resistance certification.
The body is a combination of rigid plastic and a silicone strap. On the front, you’ll find a 1.4-inch LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels and a brightness of 279 nits.
Video-call camera plus its own app
Above the display, inside the frame, there’s also a basic 2-megapixel camera designed for video calls. The watch includes a built-in microphone and speaker for sending and playing voice messages.
To pair these watches, you use the dedicated Xiaomi Kids App, and the model is equipped with older Bluetooth 4.2 technology. Compatibility is still ensured with Android 6.0 and above, or iOS 12.0 and above.
Child location tracking and battery life 5 for half a day
The watch has a built-in G-Sensor for GPS and Glonass, which lets you track your child’s location in real time and also view route history. There’s also sports support like running, jump roping, and cycling, plus you can track steps taken and calories burned.
The Xiaomi Smart Kids Watch itself has a truly big battery built inside, with a capacity of 900 mAh. With it, usage is possible for about 5 and a half days. Charging is done with a magnetic connector with pins.
We don’t know the price yet
So the Xiaomi Smart Kids Watch are officially launched on the global market already, but the Chinese giant hasn’t shared any pricing information yet. In China, they’re sold for the equivalent of roughly 50 euros.
