Finally: This is the official presentation date of the global versions of the Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2 watches

The Amazfit manufacturer moved the presentation date by one day 28.10.2020, which it informed via its official Twitter account.

Back in September, we informed you about the launch of the new versions of the Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2 smartwatches. Their goal will be to build on the exceptionally popular first GTR and GTS versions.

We’re also using the 47 mm version of the Amazfit GTR watches, so we’re curious about their launch for the global market. We already know the official date of their global versions’ presentation.

Presentation for the domestic market

Traditionally, the watches were introduced first for China. The new generation of Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2 has been available on the Chinese market since 23.9.2020. The price of both versions was set at 999 yuan, which is €125 / 147 USD in conversion. For 1099 yuan, i.e. €137 / 160 USD, the GTR 2 version with a more luxurious leather strap is also available in China.

Official presentation date of the global versions

Huami, the brand that manufactures these watches, officially announced the date when the new watch versions will be presented for the global market. The big event will take place on October 27, 2020.

At this event, we’ll find out whether the global version will differ in anything from the Chinese one that’s already on sale in the domestic market.

Amazfit is the most popular model line of this brand. The Amazfit Stratos watches were a huge success, and so were the Amazfit Bip watches. Later came the GTR and GTS versions, which built on the success of the previous models. It’s expected that the GTR 2 and GTS 2 models will also have exceptional success.

What will their price be?

One of the most eagerly awaited pieces of information is the price for the global market. A few days ago, possible prices leaked, which we also shared in an article. They were announced by the website of one of the Amazfit brand’s distributors in Italy.

As we could see, it’s a slightly higher selling price (179.90 €) than we could have expected based on the prices of the previous GTR and GTS versions. At the start of sales, those were priced at around 120 to 130 €.

What the official price for our market will be—we’ll find out very soon during the presentation by the Huami brand. However, it’s expected that prices will rise as anticipated. By how much, and whether the leaked prices from the Italian website will be confirmed, we’ll know soon.
