We ordered it too—it arrived in 12 days!
Since we’re truly fascinated—and literally hooked on Chinese gadgets—by this heated jacket from Xiaomi and CottonSmith, we couldn’t resist and ordered it so we could share our experience with you. We placed the order on Banggood on 9.10. and the seller took just 5 hours to ship it. Even that same day, the package was already on its way to us.
We chose duty-free shipping via Banggood Express, which in this case was fast—and really was. The package arrived on October 21, so only 12 days after we placed the order. Considering it was delivered from far-away China, that’s a really impressive delivery time.
Great quality and graphene heating
As you can see from the photos, we picked a red version and size XL. We normally wear size L, and the larger XL fit us perfectly—even though it’s slightly roomier. When worn together with a hoodie, this size is ideal. The model in the photos is 180 cm tall and 83 kg, but the jacket is longer and will fit even taller people. Not only in the photos, but also in real life, the red color is really bold—so much that it literally “pulls your eyes.”
Right after unboxing and the first touch, you can tell the jacket is made with quality materials. It’s made of 100% polyester used on both the outer and inner sides. Under the lining, there are thin and flexible graphene-carbon nano tubes that distribute the heat. It’s also important to mention that the heating system produces no electromagnetic radiation and is completely safe to use.
To use the active heating, you need to connect a power bank to the jacket. The connection is made via a standard USB cable, which comes out in a separate right pocket. That same pocket also serves for storing the power bank.
Powering it is easy—it works at 5V / 2A and 7.5 W. So you can connect any power bank with this output. We used an older model: the 16,000 mAh Xiaomi power bank.
The heating turns on simply with the button by the pocket. The button is backlit, and different colors indicate 4 temperature modes: 53°C, 48°C, 43°C, and 38°C. The heating system is integrated into the back area, and the heat is most noticeable on your lower back, which is definitely a plus.
In the highest mode, i.e. 53°C, shown in red, the heating is clearly noticeable—and when you press the jacket against your body, it can even burn. Battery life should be around 10 / 000 / 8 and 10 hours with a 12 14 mAh power bank, depending on the selected mode.
Jacket pockets are quite deep, so you can fit even winter (Xiaomi) gloves in there without any problems. As for maintenance and cleaning, the manufacturer states that the jacket can be washed at 30°C and should last up to 40 washes, which is really great. If you wash the jacket twice a year—before and after the season—it should theoretically last up to 20 years :).
The manufacturer also prepared a little extra in the form of a compass and a thermometer on the left sleeve. It’s a patch with a Velcro fastener, so if you don’t like it, you can remove it easily.
If we had to sum up our overall impressions of the product, we’ve just added a new favorite winter jacket to our wardrobe. The quality is truly top-notch, and with this jacket we don’t worry about getting cold in it. We recommend it wholeheartedly.
Specs of the Xiaomi COTTONSMITH heated jacket
You’ve probably already experienced that moment when you were shivering in sub-zero temperatures even though you were dressed properly. This smart heated jacket from COTTONSMITH could help with that.
It’s really well-made, and thanks to the use of graphene nano-tubes heat is distributed evenly across your whole body. You simply connect the jacket to a power bank (not included in the package), and with the press of one button you can adjust up to 4 heating levels. The whole process shouldn’t take longer than one second, and you can set the temperature from 38°C up to 53°C.
You’ll also appreciate the fact that it’s resistant to water and wind, which you’ll especially value in nasty weather. It’s padded with processed cotton, making it very lightweight and helping it keep warmth for longer. Maintenance shouldn’t be an issue either. The manufacturer states that COTTONSMITH should easily handle up to 40 washes, even in the washing machine.
It’s up to you whether you choose black, blue, or red. They’ll protect you perfectly from those unpleasant feelings of cold.
