In a recent article, we informed you about the leaked benchmarks of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875. It didn’t take long, and detailed specs of the new beast among chipsets have now surfaced online.

Official launch is just around the corner

The expected processor is set to be unveiled as early as 1 December at Qualcomm’s traditional conference. During the event, for the first time we’ll get an official look at the new king among processors—an arrival that has many fans of mobile tech watching closely.

Thanks to eager supporters, we already know the detailed specifications of the expected processor—several weeks before it hits the market. Probably the most important upgrade is the manufacturing process, modeled after US Apple and China’s Huawei, with 5-nanometer production.

Besides the manufacturing process, we also have details on the individual cores. The 875 model comes with eight cores in a 1+3+4 configuration. The highest-performance core is Cortex-A78 clocked at up to 2.84 GHz.

The other three Cortex-A78 cores run at 2.42 GHz, and finally there are also the last four power-saving Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. High-end graphics workloads are handled by the top-tier Adreno 660 chipset.

Naturally, it also includes support for the ever-growing 5G network. We expect the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 to come with a built-in Snapdragon X60 5G modem. The hardware is truly premium.

Benchmark results from AnTuTu also leaked online. The Snapdragon 875 scored an incredible 847 868 points, which is a massive jump compared to last year’s 865 with 663 000 points. The CPU performance itself was rated at 333 246 points, and the GPU at 342 225 points.

We’re already really looking forward to Qualcomm’s official reveal. For now, we’ll just have to wait patiently and keep an eye on how things develop. Feel free to write to us in the comments whether you think this kind of high performance is even necessary—and if not, what you think manufacturers should focus on more.
