Xiaomi has officially launched its latest devices for the global market, including the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra smartphones, the tablet series Xiaomi Pad 7, and wireless earbuds Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro.
Besides new hardware products, they also announced extended software support for their flagship models, which is one of the most important factors when choosing a new device.
Extended software support up to 6 years!
Xiaomi has decided to give its flagship models a longer lifespan thanks to extended software support. Specifically, this applies to the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra models, whose software support will be extended to up to 6 years.
This means they will receive regular software updates until March 2031, so they will most likely reach Android 20—or even Android 21.
As for the Xiaomi Pad 7 and Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro tablets, they will be supported until March 2028, meaning regular system updates for up to 3 years. The latest expected version in this case will be Android 17 or 18.
Such long-term support gives users benefits in the form of new features, regular security patches, and better device optimization. Xiaomi is therefore becoming a bigger competitor to companies like Samsung and Google, offering up to 7 years of updates.
