Xiaomi officially unveiled the third generation of its custom UI layer – HyperOS 3. It brings major changes in how devices connect, how AI is used, and even in the user interface itself.
HyperIsland: a new hub for users
One of the biggest innovations is a completely new environment HyperIsland. It’s a space where you can clearly organize your notifications, keep an eye on the most important information, and switch between apps without losing the flow of your work. Xiaomi designed it so users have everything they need in one place—from the calendar and reminders to system messages.
HyperIsland works as a multitasking and productivity hub. The goal is to minimize distractions while making it easier to access what matters most to you. Combined with the new notification design, the system becomes cleaner and more intuitive.
A more open ecosystem for better integration
HyperOS 3 also brings big improvements to the ecosystem. Xiaomi emphasizes that openness and integration are the foundation of modern technologies. The new version therefore offers better compatibility with more types of devices—not only those from the Xiaomi ecosystem.
During the presentation, they highlighted integration with Apple devices, i.e., iPhones—while the new 15T and 15T Pro models will be able to use the Touch to Share feature directly with fellow “apple” users, something like their own Air Drop-style function.
The result is easier pairing of smartphones, wearables, home appliances, or even cars. That means you don’t have to limit yourself to just one type of device—HyperOS 3 delivers smooth transitions and collaboration across different platforms.
HyperAI: stronger AI inside the system
A key element is also HyperAI, which in the new generation received a noticeable performance upgrade. Now it’s powered by the GPT-4o mini model, helping the system better understand context and provide more personalized suggestions when writing or communicating.
But HyperAI isn’t limited to text. Xiaomi also showed dynamic AI wallpapers that can bring your favorite memories of people or pets to the screen. That makes your phone feel more personal and visually more attractive.
HyperOS 3 update plan for specific models
During the HyperOS 3 unveiling, Xiaomi also showed a detailed update plan. It’s divided into three phases—first devices will receive updates as early as October 2025, with more coming in November and December 2025, and the final wave arriving in early 2026.
