As Xiaomi announced, today it launched a new laptop. To be precise, it’s only a refreshed version of an older, already well-known Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 12.5 model.
The 2019 version got a newer processor, while keeping the very thin and lightweight design. The price hasn’t changed either.

A new generation of Intel processors
The only upgrade that the Mi Notebook Air 12.5 2019 brings is a newer processor. Xiaomi updated its lightest laptop with the 8th generation Intel Core m3 / i5 processors. Two versions will be available – one with the Intel Core m3-8100Y with a max clock speed of 3.4 GHz, the other with the Intel Core i5-8200Y with a max clock speed of 3.9 GHz.
In both cases, there’s an integrated graphics chip Intel UHD Graphics 615, along with just 4 GB LPDDR3 RAM at 1866 MHz, and memory versions with 128 GB and 256 GB SSD will be offered.
The Core m3 version with 128 GB SSD in mainland China costs 3599 yuan, which is about €475 / 12,205 CZK. The model with the same processor and 256 GB SSD is priced at 3999 yuan, i.e. €530 / 13,600 CZK. The price of the Core i5 model with 256 GB SSD is not known yet; it will be released later.
12,9 mm and 1,07 kg
In other respects, the laptop hasn’t changed at all. So you’re getting a very compact 12.5″ laptop with a thickness of just 12.9 mm and a weight of 1.07 kg. The IPS display still has the classic FullHD resolution; it also features very thin side bezels measuring only 5.71 mm.
One of the biggest advantages of the Mi Notebook Air 12.5 2019 is battery life. An energy-efficient processor and a large battery translate into 10 hours of internet browsing, or 8.8 hours of online video playback.
It also features fast charging, which charges the battery to 50% in 35 minutes. Music lovers will enjoy great sound thanks to the Harman stereo speakers and DTS audio enhancement.
