Redmi Book 2026 comes in two sizes
Besides the larger model, Redmi Book 16 2026, the manufacturer also unveiled a more compact Redmi Book 14 2026. It’s aimed especially at users who prefer lower weight and better portability without significant performance compromises—and this model can be viewed as more direct competition for the aforementioned Macbook Neo.
The smaller variant offers a 14-inch display with higher resolution 2880 × 1800 pixels (2.8K), up to 500 nits brightness, and a 120 Hz refresh rate. As a result, it’s a smoother panel than the 16″ model—something especially creators and users working with graphics will appreciate.
Both models share the same 80 Wh battery. The smaller model delivers up to 27.8 hours of video playback and roughly 12.5 hours of real battery life. Weight is only 1.49 kg, making it an ideal device for travel.
Intel Core Ultra 5 125H: The same processor for both models
Both notebooks use the identical processor Intel Core Ultra 5 125H from the Meteor Lake generation. It’s a modern chip with 14 cores and 18 threads, reaching a maximum frequency of 4.5 GHz. The advantage also includes the NPU unit, which speeds up AI operations directly on the device.
The integrated graphics feature 112 compute units, which is enough for everyday work, multimedia, and less demanding games. Combined with LPDDR5X memory running at 7467 MT/s and either 16 GB or 32 GB, it’s a very fast setup. Storage is handled by a fast PCIe 4.0 SSD with 512 GB or 1 TB, and there’s also the option to expand via a second M.2 slot.
Display, battery, and performance in practice
The larger Redmi Book 16 2026 offers a 16-inch 2.5K display with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 px, 400 nits brightness, and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The display is complemented by TÜV certifications for eye protection, which you’ll appreciate for long working sessions.
Both models support 100 W GaN charging via USB-C, and in roughly 30 minutes you’ll charge them to half capacity. Advanced cooling is also included, with a pair of fans and a heatpipe setup that enables performance up to 60 W.
Integration with HyperOS and AI features for modern work
The laptops are fully integrated into the HyperOS ecosystem and bring advanced device-to-device connectivity within the Xiaomi ecosystem. File sharing, syncing with a smartphone, and controlling smart home devices are all included.
You’ll also find AI features like image generation, searching within files, document translation, or voice control via the assistant XiaoAI. The notebook works as an intelligent helper for both work and fun.
The construction is one-piece, with both models measuring just 15.9 mm thick. The larger model weighs 1.86 kg, while the smaller one is just 1.49 kg. So you’re getting very portable devices. The package includes Thunderbolt 4, USB-C, HDMI 2.1, USB-A and 3.5 mm jack. Connecting peripherals or external monitors won’t be an issue.
Price and availability
The base price of the Redmi Book 16 2026 starts at about 5699 CNY (around €712), while the smaller Redmi Book 14 2026 starts at 5499 CNY (around €687). The price varies depending on the RAM and storage configuration. Both models are currently available on the Chinese market, but they may also appear with international sellers.
