We’re starting to gather new information about the Xiaomi 13 series. These will be top-tier smartphones that will definitely impress even with a high display refresh rate by the end of this year.
For the Xiaomi 13 series, for example, we already know it should be unveiled to the world a bit earlier than the previous generation, and the month that’s mentioned the most is november.
High refresh rate
In addition, it’s also being mentioned that this time around, Xiaomi won’t leave anything to chance and will bring the best processor yet again — in this case Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
Besides performance, it will definitely try to stand out with its display panel. A well-known leaker revealed that the displays of these flagships will support up to a 165Hz refresh rate along with up to 2K resolution, which would put it on par with even the most high-end gaming smartphones on the market. However, we’ll see what battery capacities Xiaomi uses and whether the flagships will suffer from low battery life.
With high 2K resolution, though, the refresh rate would most likely drop to around 120 Hz, just like the flagships from other manufacturers do. After all, the combination of 2K and a 165-hertz refresh rate would definitely be tough on the battery.
Specifically, we’re talking about a display from Samsung labeled E6. In higher versions (the Xiaomi 13 Pro model), however, a different panel should be fitted — the introduction of which should happen soon.
Will we finally get a flat display?
It’s also said that the new smartphones may lose the curved display. Xiaomi is testing this on the still-unannounced model Xiaomi 12 Lite as well, which will feature a flat display and flat bezels.
These are only the first revealed pieces of information, and we’ll have to wait at least until September to see what’s actually true — when there should be at least an unveiling for the Chinese market.
