New leak: Redmi is working on a smartphone with an IP68 rating and 120-W charging

It seems that the Chinese company Redmi is working on several smartphones at once. The latest info points to the first smartphone under the Redmi brand, which should feature an IP68 certification. It will also bring 120-watt fast charging. It will be intended primarily for the home Chinese market.

The main weapon should be water resistance

Recently, we informed you about the Redmi smartphone, which should have a 6.7-inch OLED display and a Snapdragon 870 processor. It should be revealed sometime during next year. The same leaker called Digital Chat Station has now unveiled another smartphone.

This Redmi smartphone should be the first device from the brand to offer certified water resistance by IP68 type. It should also be equipped with a pair of stereo speakers and offer fast charging up to 120 watts, which we could already see at the launch of the smartphone Xiaomi MIX 4.

Rumors are also circulating about the name of this smartphone. One side leans toward the name Redmi K40 Ultra. We don’t know whether Redmi would release another smartphone from this series after such a longer time.

We’re more inclined to one of the new Redmi K50 series models. We expect that over the coming days we’ll learn more information about this newly prepared Redmi-branded device.

Redmi K50

We don’t know much about this series yet. In mid-July, Redmi company CEO Lu Weibing claimed that the company is working hard on the K50 series. Leakers revealed that it should be introduced still before the Chinese New Year, i.e. before February 1, 2022.

Many users would like to see wireless charging implemented. The Redmi K50 series will definitely shuffle the cards in the mid-range smartphone segment. There are successful brands like Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO, Realme, or even OnePlus.
