Amazfit GTR 3 and Amazfit GTS 3: We know the official presentation date
The Zepp Health (formerly known as Huami) announced that it will officially present its new products as early as next month. It’s expected to be the new smartwatches from the GTR and GTS series, which are also sold in our market under the Amazfit brand. So far, the official name of the new products hasn’t been confirmed, but we expect the next generation to make sense with the naming Amazfit GTR 3 and Amazfit GTS 3.
New information has been announced by the brand on its official Twitter account Amazfit Global. The global press conference is scheduled for 11. October 2021, i.e. the day before the Chinese presentation, which was announced a bit earlier.
Updated operating system, app support, and better battery life
Quite a lot is expected from the new smartwatches, because they should include the updated operating system introduced in July. Zepp OS brings a lot of new features, but one advantage is also the compact size of the software itself. It has just 55 MB, which is truly only a fraction compared to the current operating system from Amazfit or even compared to Apple’s watchOS.
You’ll especially appreciate the small file size in cheaper watch models with limited internal storage. The new system also brings improved performance of the watches themselves and better battery life. The manufacturer promises an increase in battery life of up to 190% and also support for apps from selected cloud services.
Based on previous leaks, we were able to see the new Amazfit watch in FCC certification. Smartwatch with model code A2040 was certified on September 23, 2021, and according to one of the documents we can expect a round display (in the style of the GTR series).
Also in this report, a new user interface with new options will catch your eye. As you can see in the picture, the interface offers new options, including buttons for “Calendar” and “Tools.” The settings menu also includes an “Apps” item, which could indicate, for example, the aforementioned third-party cloud services.
