Xiaomi has had its smart glasses patented
From the first smart glasses, which were introduced by Google itself, it has already been nearly 8 years. In 2013, we were introduced to very interesting intelligent glasses called Google Glass.
Besides the reveal, they also went on sale, meaning end customers had the chance to try this new technology for themselves.
But as time went on, interest in the glasses died down. Partly due to the high price, limited practical use, and fear of insufficient protection for sensitive personal data.
But after all these years, we now have the world-famous manufacturer Xiaomi, which—thanks to its technologies and tech gadgets—never stops raising the bar and pushing development forward.
“Ordinary” design with smart functions
The latest patent shows that smart glasses will likely return to life again. The concept looks genuinely interesting, because compared to the Google Glass mentioned above, these look like classic sunglasses or prescription eyeglasses, enhanced with smart features.
The glasses should use a special therapeutic system that transmits micro-signals, which are meant to help people with anxiety or depression. They should also ensure that the eyes don’t get tired and that the person stays as focused as possible. We’ll see what features these glasses will ultimately have.
A mechanism based on electromagnetic impulses should also help prevent headaches or stress. It sounds really interesting. For any further information, we’ll probably have to wait for now. Since this is only a patent, the final product is definitely not close to being unveiled or released.
