POCO F5 as a renamed Redmi Note 12 Turbo for global markets should be unveiled within the next few weeks

Redmi only recently introduced a properly powerful smartphone Redmi Note 12 Turbo. It’s meant only for the domestic Chinese market, but for the global one it will arrive under the name POCO F5.

According to the latest information, the POCO F5 smartphone should be presented as early as April 6. This is very likely, because its software is already fully prepared.

The software is already ready

POCO F5 will come in four variants, with each targeting a different market. We’re talking about models for the Indian, European, Russian, and global markets.

While the software is ready, the POCO F5 smartphone likely won’t be announced next week. Also, we haven’t seen official renders of the device from retailers and other sources yet, which is already the rule—especially a few days before the presentation.

This leads to the belief that the POCO F5 smartphone will arrive a bit later. However, right now we expect a move from POCO, which should therefore officially announce the launch date.

The specs are excellent

Redmi Note 12 Turbo—the one that POCO F5 is supposed to be based on—is truly an interesting mid-range smartphone. It owes that mainly to its powerful processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. It delivers as much performance as last year’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

In addition, there’s a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a maximum brightness of up to 1,000 nits.

The back features a 64-megapixel main camera with optical stabilization, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro.

A 5,000 mAh battery supports 67W fast charging. You’ll also get Android 13 along with the MIUI 14 overlay and good-quality stereo speakers.

The price will likely be higher

When it comes to pricing, you need to be prepared for the fact that in our country POCO F5 will cost more than Redmi Note 12 Turbo in the domestic Chinese market. This is due to VAT, customs duties, and import costs.

The base Note 12 Turbo version works out to 270 €; so if we only add Slovak VAT of 20%, we’re at 324 €, and that doesn’t include shipping and other costs that the manufacturer will have when bringing the phone to the market. Realistically, we’d expect the price tag to be around 399 €, at least.

However, this is only our estimate and it might not be the same in reality. But we still need to wait for the official information.
