POCO has a new phone that will shock you today: Surprisingly compact X8s with a 6,35-inch 120 Hz display, a 6330 mAh battery, and a low price

Updated October 25: POCO has meanwhile officially unveiled the X8s for global markets and published the full specifications. They also added a third camera, which the Vietnamese listing did not mention.

POCO opened pre-orders for the model POCO X8s even before it was officially announced. The phone appeared in Xiaomi’s official store on Vietnam’s Shopee platform. X8s is the smallest model in the X8 series; it features a 6.35-inch OLED display and a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip.

POCO X8s is already the fifth member of the series. In March, the X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max arrived, and in September the base X8 and X8 Power were released.

POCO X8s: Small display, big battery

The display measures 6.35 inches diagonally, with a 1.5K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The base POCO X8, meanwhile, has 6.83 inches, and the POCO X8 Pro has 6.59 inches. In terms of design, the X8s looks similar to both sources’ Redmi K90. It will be available in white, black, and blue.

A silicon-carbon battery has a 6330 mAh capacity, with silicon making up 16%. The larger X8 Pro has 6500 mAh, so the smaller body only cost 170 mAh. The base X8 has up to 8340 mAh, but it’s also noticeably larger.

It charges at 100 W via the PPS standard, so even a charger from another brand is enough. With a cable, the phone can also charge other devices at 22.5 W.

Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and IP68 rating

Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 is made on a 4-nanometer process, and its fastest core reaches 2.8 GHz. The phone also passed Geekbench under the name 2609CPC5FG. According to the The Tech Outlook portal, it scored 972 points in the single-core test and 3297 points in the multi-core test. It ran on Android 16 with 12 GB of RAM.

IP68 rating protects the phone from dust and immersion in water. It runs on HyperOS 3. The Vietnamese listing claimed two cameras on the back: a 50 MP main sensor and an 8 MP ultrawide. However, the official specs also acknowledge a third 50 MP telephoto lens with 2.5x zoom.

The listing did not provide the front camera, dimensions, or weight. The official site has already filled them in: the phone has a 20 MP front camera, measures 151,1 x 71,8 x 8,06 millimeters, and weighs 187 grams.

Price in Vietnam and chance for Europe

The 8 + 256 GB version costs 11,5 million VND, which converts to under 390 euros. For the 12 + 512 GB version, the store asks 14 million VND, i.e., under 475 euros. With an introductory coupon, prices drop to 8 242 500 and 10 190 000 VND, which is under 280 and under 350 euros. The first customers will receive Redmi Buds 6 Play headphones with the phone, while supplies last. The shop will start shipping the phones on 6. to 9. November.

Outside Vietnam, POCO sales during the pre-order period did not confirm it. Model 2609CPC5FG, however, passed IMDA certification in Singapore and also appeared in the EEC and IECEE databases. The letter G at the end of the Xiaomi model name is used for global versions. The Chinese version carries the designation M583CF and, according to The Tech Outlook, is expected to launch under the Redmi brand.

In Europe, the base X8, X8 Pro, and POCO X8 Pro Max are being sold today. The base X8 started at €319.99 for the 8 + 256 GB version. We keep updating warehouse coupons in the EU for the whole series. If X8s also comes to us, it will be the smallest phone in the entire family.
