We need this in Europe too: Premium Xiaomi Mijia Air Conditioner Pro with innovative airflow

Xiaomi is bringing innovation to home climate control once again. The latest air conditioner model, called Xiaomi Mijia Air Conditioner Pro, builds on last year’s idea of directing airflow upward instead of blowing straight at you.

The novelty goes even further. It’s equipped with a pair of mmWave radars that can track people’s movement in the room and automatically adjust the power and direction of airflow depending on where you are.

Smart cooling with radar

The core idea of “invisible” airflow that flows around walls and ceilings has been improved with active tracking of people in the room. Using mmWave radars, the system knows exactly where you are and decides whether the cool air should be directed straight at you or whether it’s better to avoid you.

The result is higher comfort without the feeling of an unpleasant draft. This technology, which you’d normally expect to find in expensive central air conditioners, is now making its way into a typical home.

If the system detects no movement, it automatically switches to an energy-saving mode. When you return to the room, the air conditioner starts up quietly again. Thanks to Lingyun AI and cloud-based scene recognition, the new model can save up to 361 kWh per year.

High performance even at extreme temperatures

Inside the air conditioner, you’ll find a dual-cylinder inverter compressor, a condenser with dual-row cooling, and the same solution for the evaporator. This ensures high cooling and heating efficiency across a wide temperature range—from freezing -35°C to extreme +65°C.

Energy efficiency reaches APF 5.65, meeting the highest energy efficiency tier in China, labeled as “Super Level 1”.

Smart features and quiet operation

Xiaomi Mijia Air Conditioner Pro is fully ready to integrate into a modern home. It supports the HyperOS Connect system, is compatible with the Mi Home app, and works with the Xiao Ai voice assistant. With OTA updates, you can enjoy new features even after purchase. In the app, you can create favorite modes or schedule scenes based on the time of day and your activities.

Hygiene is taken care of by a self-cleaning function that heats both the indoor and outdoor units to 56°C, removing bacteria. It’s complemented by an antibacterial filter that captures more than 99% of common microorganisms. The device can handle an airflow of up to 830 m³/h, and in quiet operation mode it produces only 18 dB(A)—which is less than a whisper.

Compact dimensions for easy installation

The indoor unit weighs only 13 kg, requiring just 35 cm of height and 2 cm of clearance from the ceiling. These dimensions make installation easier even in smaller apartments or rooms where traditional wall-mounted units might be problematic.

Price and availability: Will we see it in Europe too?

In mainland China, the price of this advanced air conditioner is around 3999 yuan, which is approximately €480 / 12,000 CZK. It’s not yet known whether it will reach markets outside China, but it’s almost certain that in the near future we’ll also see global versions of Xiaomi appliances sold directly to us in Europe.

Xiaomi is holding its big March 2025 conference revealed a major new feature, and that for the first time in its history it plans to expand its range of large home appliances to foreign markets, beyond the domestic Chinese market. So it should happen before the end of this year.
