Prices for three Redmi K20 models leaked. If confirmed, the competition will be in trouble

24. May 2019 4 min read 0 comments

The closer we get to the launch of the highly anticipated Redmi K20 (and Redmi K20 Pro), the more info we’re getting. Most of it comes straight to us from official sources – Redmi’s brand Weibo profiles and the company director Lu Weibing.

Prices that would overwhelm the competition

This time, though, we have unofficial info revealing the prices of three Redmi K20 Pro smartphone models. Even though they look very realistic and would earn the title “king of price-to-performance,” we have to assume that at the official reveal, different numbers may be announced.

Redmi K20 Pro ceny

The leakster who shared the photo says they got it directly from an official presentation at the unveiling of the expected new device. The image itself—its design and high quality—suggests the information could very well be true. Here are the mentioned prices converted to ours:

Redmi K20 Pro with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage – 2599 yuan, ~340 € / 8700 CZK

Redmi K20 Pro with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage – 2799 yuan, ~365 € / 9400 CZK

Redmi K20 Pro with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage – 2999 yuan, ~390 € / 10 040 CZK

Such prices are only in China

However, we need to keep in mind that even if these prices are confirmed, they’re still prices meant exclusively for the Chinese market and for people living in China. We’ve already gotten used to the fact that we have to expect higher prices for Europe—and it won’t be any different this time.

It’s not yet known whether the Redmi K20 / K20 Pro will also come in a global version, but the company would lose a significant part of its profits if it doesn’t. We hope this one won’t turn out like the Redmi Note 7 Pro, and that we’ll be able to enjoy it in the international market just like customers in China.

A leaked photo once again confirms the presence of the Snapdragon 855 processor, a 4000 mAh battery, or a 48 MPx triple rear camera. So far, the only official info we have is the name Redmi K20, but the company will probably reveal two models right away – the more affordable Redmi K20 and the beefed-up Redmi K20 Pro.

Pre-orders are already live in China

This is also one of those moments when we can be a little envious of the Chinese. Redmi has already launched registration for buying its new flagship for interested customers in China. The customer pays a deposit of 100 yuan (€13 / 335 CZK), and gets priority purchase rights for the new product as soon as it is released.

The rest of the phone’s value is paid after the final price is announced. The advantage is that these pre-orders will be delivered to customers within 7 days.

As we already know with the availability of new Xiaomi smartphones, in the first sales they sell out incredibly fast. Redmi brand director Lu Weibing is counting on massive success, and a fan confirmed that they prepared enough stock so it will reach everyone.

The Pro model is supposed to be the flagship that we’re all waiting for so impatiently. Just a few days separate us from the official presentation on 28.5.2019 at 7:00 our time. Until then, we can recap everything we already know about Redmi K20.
