The hot Chinese new Redmi K40 is also expected to appear on the European market. The smartphone will, however, change its branding and is supposed to be sold under the name POCO F3. We already know the first certification details.

Redmi K40 as POCO F3?
It’s slowly becoming a habit that the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi lists its new smartphones in different markets under different names. It won’t be any different with the new flagship smartphone Redmi K40.
In Europe, it should build on the success of the POCO brand and be sold under the name POCO F3. For now, however, we don’t know whether the same trend will also apply to the premium model Redmi K40 Pro / POCO F3 Pro.
The Europe-bound new product has already appeared in Singapore certification under IDMA. The POCO F3 model was certified under a codename of M2012K11AG.
What’s interesting is that the same model code is also used by Redmi K40 in the Chinese TENAA certification, which means there’s a clear connection between these two models. The smartphones should also share the same specs.
AMOLED, Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, NFC and 5G
To recap, the original model Redmi K40 was certified under the model code M2012K11AC, and POCO F3 will most likely be the global version of this smartphone.
Despite the fact that this isn’t official information, for the POCO F3 smartphone we expect a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset, as well as NFC and support for 5G connectivity. As for the display panel, it should use a Samsung AMOLED screen.
More details are not known yet, but we can expect a very similar, if not identical, set of specs to the Chinese version of the Redmi K40 smartphone. The design should also be the same, which would fit nicely with its siblings in the form of POCO X3 NFC and POCO M3 models that are already sold on our market.
