In February, the company Redmi introduced new smartphones from the K40 series. They want to build on that success with their first gaming smartphone, called Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition. Its presentation is scheduled for the end of April.
The presentation is on 27. April
The first gaming smartphone will be unveiled in its home market in China as early as 27 April. Redmi officially confirmed this by posting a gif. It shows a module of the rear triple camera. The backlighting of the module is handled in an interesting way. That will be done with a sliding button on the side of the device.
From the gif, we can also read a gaming element in the form of side mechanical buttons. They will replace the touch elements on the display, giving the player a feel similar to controls on a gaming console.

From the Chinese 3C website, we learned that it will probably be two models with the designations M2102K10C and M2104K10C. These records revealed that the smartphones will support 67W fast charging and will also get 5G network support.
A premium display and a high-quality camera
This time, Redmi will use a 6.64-inch AMOLED display. While the Redmi K40 had a 120 Hz refresh rate, for this gaming smartphone it will be up to 144 Hz. The heart of the device will be the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor. The battery will come with a solid capacity of 5,000 mAh with the previously mentioned 67W charging.
Xiaomi’s vice president and Redmi director, Lu Weibing, on the Chinese social network Weibo, shared a photo taken of an as-yet-unannounced Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition. The main sensor Sony IMX868 is said to have a resolution of 64 MPx and will be able to produce truly high-quality shots—an additional useful feature beyond the gaming design and specs.
The other two sensors and the rest of the device’s specifications are still a mystery for us. Once this smartphone is officially unveiled, you can look forward to our detailed article.
The expected price could be in the range of 2000 – 3000 yuan, or 255 – 384 €, which is a really great deal for a smartphone with such specs. It’s also estimated that the smartphone will come to the Indian market, where it will be handled by the sister company POCO.
