Redmi, the Chinese Xiaomi subsidiary brand, Redmi, will expand its flagship lineup with two more smartphones from this year. These will be the Redmi K40 Ultra and Redmi K40G, and we already have the first information about the upcoming devices.
Redmi K40 Ultra: 120 Hz AMOLED display and MediaTek
Redmi has a surprise in store for us in the form of a pair of new flagship smartphones. Redmi K40 Ultra and Redmi K40G should round out the current flagship series for 2021 and offer some interesting features that have reached us through the first leaks.
According to available information, the Redmi K40 Ultra model will soon be officially unveiled in China and in its specifications it will feature an AMOLED screen with a high refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, as well as a flagship processor labeled MediaTek Dimensity 1200.
Redmi K40G: MediaTek vs. Qualcomm
That’s not all, though. As stated by the Gizmochina portal, Redmi K40 Ultra will have a pair of different versions. One of them, mentioned with a MediaTek processor, and the other with a Qualcomm processor. The latter version should make it to the market under the name Redmi K40G.
Redmi K40G as the flagship model will bring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset. The equipment will also be complemented by a 4000 mAh battery with fast charging of up to 67W. There will also be no shortage of up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage.
It’s not yet known whether these smartphones will eventually appear on the global market. In the past, we’ve seen a line like Xiaomi Mi 10T or rebranded devices in the style of Redmi K40, i.e., POCO F3. We’ll see how the Chinese manufacturer decides in this case, but we would definitely welcome these devices on our market.
