That some smartphones are released with an older version of the Android operating system or an outdated version of the user interface. Are you wondering why that might be the case? The reason is quite simple, and you should know it. This is what the Chinese giant Xiaomi itself said.
Redmi Note 13 without HyperOS after the launch
The Redmi Note 13 series was announced with the software layer MIUI 14, even though, at the time these smartphones were unveiled, the new HyperOS already existed.
The reason is that, at the time these phones were being developed, HyperOS wasn’t yet sufficiently tuned and ready to be used in internally tested devices.
So the company decided to release the product line with the older MIUI 14 and later make an update available for them that includes HyperOS. This ensures system stability for the user, but it also takes away one big update within the guaranteed software support window.
We believe many would rather see new phones launched with the latest available system, but sometimes it’s not possible within the development process. These models were simply created in the company’s labs before a stable version of the software itself had time to be developed.
If you’ve already managed to buy a model from the Redmi Note 13 series, keep checking the availability of software updates regularly, and soon you should be able to try the new graphical interface too. Your phone should also notify you automatically about the availability of the newer firmware version.
