The Redmi Note 15 series was officially unveiled in China at the end of August, and first information about the global models is already starting to appear. As is typical for Xiaomi, international versions differ slightly from the Chinese ones, and the Redmi Note 15 Pro model will be no exception.
According to the latest information, it will start selling globally under the official name Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G and will bring a major hardware upgrade.
A different main camera in the global version
While the Chinese version of Redmi Note 15 Pro introduced a 50 MPx Sony LYT-600 as the main sensor, the global variant will come with a completely different sensor. Based on firmware code leaks, Xiaomi decided to implement 200 MPx Samsung ISOCELL S5KHPE (1/1.4″). As a result, the global version will be clearly distinguished from its predecessor, the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G, which uses the older generation of this HP3 sensor.
Unfortunately, the next camera upgrades end here. The ultra-wide lens will remain the same as in last year’s model, so 8 MPx OmniVision OV08F, and the front camera will offer a resolution of 20 MPx. That means the same configuration as in the previous generation, but the main sensor will be the main selling point of this global model.
We still don’t know whether Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G will keep the same chipset as the Chinese version—namely the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra (4 nm), focused on efficient mid-range performance. We’ll see if the battery will be changed as well. Leaker PaperKing13 also mentions on X that the Redmi Note 15 is said to feature a 5520 mAh battery with support for 45 W charging.
And what about the top-end Note 15 Pro+ 5G model?
As for the flagship Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G, information from this source indicates a reduction in battery capacity from the original (in China) 7000 mAh to 6500 mAh in the global model. However, global users will get slightly faster 100W charging compared to 90W in the Chinese version. Even with the reduced capacity, 6500 mAh is still very solid and should be enough for two days of active use.
The phone will be available in four color options, but it’s not yet known whether the global versions will also bring special editions that appeared in China. We can’t share the exact price at which Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G will be sold here just yet.
