The Redmi continues to gradually reveal the upcoming smartphone Redmi Note 17 Pro, which will be officially unveiled in just July 14, 2026. The latest teasers don’t only point to an attractive new Sky Blue color version, but also to an exceptionally high level of durability that we’ve rarely seen in this price segment.
This time, the manufacturer isn’t betting only on higher performance or a bigger battery. It places a strong focus on the device’s everyday durability—something that could be one of the main reasons why the new Note series generation will be among the most interesting mid-range smartphones.
The new Sky Blue color looks more elegant than before
Redmi has unveiled a new color variant Sky Blue, inspired by the morning sky. The back uses a subtle light-blue shade with a discreet gradient and a matte finish, creating a more premium look.
The design remains minimalist. On the back, there’s a pair of cameras placed in a simple module in the top-left corner. The overall look feels cleaner and more elegant than in previous Note series generations.
Durability is one of the biggest draws of the new model
The biggest new feature is undoubtedly durability. Redmi confirmed that the Note 17 Pro meets certifications IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K, meaning protection not only against dust and submersion in water, but also against high-pressure and high-temperature water jets.
The manufacturer also states that the smartphone has received a TÜV SÜD certification, according to which it will withstand submersion to a depth of two meters for 72 hours. In addition, the construction is protected by durable glass Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, while Redmi also mentions a dual five-star certification from SGS and CQC for drop resistance.
Redmi also showed unusual durability tests
The manufacturer has published a series of videos in which the new Redmi Note 17 Pro goes through truly unconventional trials. The phone handled impacts from a football, hard nuts, and even durian without damaging the display.
Another video demonstrates resistance to an extremely strong high-pressure water stream. Redmi wants to show that the new model won’t be meant only for normal office use, but will also handle tougher everyday conditions.
Unveiling in just a few days
The official unveiling of the Redmi Note 17 series is scheduled for July 14, 2026. The complete technical specifications are still a secret, but it’s already clear that the focus will be on durability, battery life, and a more modern design.
During the unveiling, we’ll also learn details about the processor used, the cameras, battery capacity, charging, and of course the retail price. If all the information so far is confirmed, the Redmi Note 17 Pro could become one of the most durable smartphones in its class.
