Amazfit as a Xiaomi partner brand brings interesting wearables to the entire ecosystem. These are the futuristic Amazfit X, which also include a curved display and a sensor for monitoring blood oxygen levels.
In the editorial office, we decided to test these smartwatches ourselves so we can assess what specs they really offer. Whether they’re truly worth it, you’ll find out in our review.
Amazfit X: Where to buy?
Smartwatch with a curved display, Amazfit X, we ordered it during the crowdfunding campaign via Indiegogo.com. However, you can currently also find it in the official Amazfit store on the well-known online marketplace AliExpress.
The watch is available in both the China and Spain warehouses with fast, hassle-free delivery. That way, the product can arrive right to your home—already for 1 for – 5 days.

TIPShipping via Aliexpress Standard Shipping
Aliexpress Standard Shipping is available for this product. This is the most reliable shipping method and, in most cases, it’s delivered by a courier company. Delivery time is usually 10-20 days.
When ordering from the Chinese warehouse, AliExpress will add the customs duty in your cart—approximately 3,70 € per order. When you receive the package, you won’t pay anything extra.
Creative packaging and a charger in one
Even the packaging itself, in which this product arrives, suggests that you’re dealing with something special. Inside a fabric pouch you’ll find a round transparent case that neatly houses the watches with a nicely rounded display.
They’re placed right at the top of the package and are secured to the pins of the brand’s own charger. The charger sits inside the packaging and, at its other end, it has a USB-A connector. The charger can be taken out and used separately.
In addition, the watches come not only with an installed silicone strap—the package also includes another spare one. There’s also a brief user manual.
High-quality metal construction
The watches themselves are made of metal materials (one piece of an alloy). These are complemented by plastic materials on the back, and, of course, there’s also a hardened protective glass that covers the rounded display. The dimensions of this device (without the strap) are 22,6 x 55,4 millimeters, and the weight is then only 47 grams (including the strap).
That’s the main attraction of this model, running across the front with a 2.07″ diagonal. On its right edge, the watch also has a pressure button that, when pressed, turns the watch’s display on or off.
Below that button there’s also a cutout for the microphone. The edges of the device and most of the back are made from the aforementioned metal materials.
The back panel also includes the necessary charging pins and sensors for measuring heart rate and blood oxygen levels. The strap has a specific connection setup, and from this point of view, replacing it can be quite challenging.
Apart from daily elegant wear, the watch body is also designed for monitoring sports activities. In this case, there’s also enhanced water and dust resistance—even with certification 5 ATM.
Large 2.07″ curved display: Like something from the future
The main benefit—and especially the biggest selling point—of this device is its innovative rounded display that literally looks like something from the future. It will take your breath away for more than one tech enthusiast—even if the display doesn’t respond perfectly to wrist-turn gestures.
But back to the panel itself, which has a diagonal of 2.07″ (206 x 640 pixels). Yes, it has bezels—we won’t pretend it doesn’t. Still, it offers truly futuristic 3D curvature that matches the shape of your wrist.
A key advantage of this touch panel is its smoothness. It stops at a value of 326 ppi, which can be on par with more than one smartphone. It doesn’t lack vivid colors and excellent gesture response in the system. Here, the manufacturer really didn’t hold back.
However, let’s not just praise it. The glossy display does offer automatic brightness adjustment, and indoors the brightness is enough. But the moment you take the watch outside, especially in direct sunlight, you’ll find you could use a few extra nits. The maximum brightness is 430 nits.
Mobile app: Zepp
The watch connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth 5.0. All the core features, as well as updates, can be managed through the well-known app Zepp (formerly Amazfit).
On the home screen, you can have multiple cards showing your fitness activities. There’s no shortage of step count or calories (with weekly, monthly, or yearly views), your weight, and more.
It’s also interesting how your physiological data is handled—it’s either entered manually, or the Zepp app pulls it from connected devices. In our case, we had data synchronization from the Xiaomi diagnostic scale.
On the next tab, you’ll find a list of advanced features such as setting goals or sharing your results with family or friends. Then, on the last third tab, there’s customization of the watch itself.
When it comes to customization, there are plenty of practical options. It includes the strap placement and setting a time for a wrist-rotation gesture, changing the watch face, enabling call and SMS alerts, setting alarms, reminders, and also notifications from individual apps.
But that’s still not everything—this app’s settings offer much more. You can configure heart-rate monitoring, set up weather, and even install updates that are definitely necessary for this device. All of this is handled by a very well-optimized Zepp app.
Software and control
When it comes to touch control, users of Xiaomi fitness bands and Amazfit watches will recognize the navigation. It’s very similar control, but it also highlights the integrated closed “in-house” system from Amazfit.
The home screen offers a watch face that you can change (analog or digital display). You won’t lack information about steps taken, calories, measured heart rate, and there’s even data about sunrise and sunset in your location.
Swiping down from the top brings up a small quick-access center. Besides the time, it shows the battery percentage and the option to enable Do Not Disturb mode. There’s also the flashlight feature, battery saver mode activation, and the ability to find your connected smartphone.
Swiping to the left shows a menu with functions like oxygen monitoring, heart-rate monitoring, activity monitoring, alarm settings, and more. It also includes a shortcut to the system settings.
Swiping in the opposite direction displays a sort of summary of current data, including weather, heart-rate monitoring, and sports activities. This menu can be customized with additional fields.
The final option is swiping from the bottom up, which shows your current notifications. These are pulled from your smartphone via the Zepp app. Because of the closed system, you can’t fully respond to notifications the way some equally expensive competing smartwatches can. There’s also no option to install any additional apps, which is another downside of the closed system.
Fitness features and oxygen monitoring
A very important element in this case is 24 hour heart-rate monitoring, which is also complemented by sleep monitoring with sleep-quality evaluation.
In today’s stressful times, the watch also offers stress-level evaluation with entries in statistics, as well as a sensor for measuring blood oxygen levels. All the collected data is complemented by the well-known PAI health index that you may know from other Amazfit models.
Except for the last mentioned feature, monitoring worked flawlessly and we didn’t notice any issues even during sleep tracking. However, we recommend loosening the strap by one notch compared to the standard way of wearing it for a more comfortable experience at night.
However, the mentioned oxygen-amount monitoring deserves criticism. It’s an interesting feature known from more expensive devices, but in this case it didn’t work completely reliably. The watch repeatedly prompted us to reposition the module on our wrist and then repeated the measurement. Roughly every third measurement was successful.
As for sports activity monitoring, you can enable it both on the watch and in the app. There’s support for nine sports, including indoor and outdoor running, as well as swimming and more—also with automatic recognition of the sport in question.
We also used the indoor elliptical trainer mode. Quick startup of this feature together with accurate GPS coverage wasn’t a problem. We also have to highlight the high-quality vibration feedback, which alerts you—for example—when you reach a goal. The integrated linear vibration motor is truly top-tier, following the example of flagship devices.
Connectivity: No GPS + GLONASS
When it comes to connectivity, there’s support for Bluetooth 5.0 LE low-energy technology. The watch also offers localization using the built-in technology GPS + GLONASS, and during testing we didn’t notice any issues or slowdowns. During the test period, we also observed updates to A-GPS technology.
It also includes a triple-axis accelerometer and gyroscope, as well as a new sensor BioTracker 2.0 PPG. These technologies help improve fitness activity tracking.
Amazfit X doesn’t offer Wi‑Fi connectivity or LTE, and it’s also not possible to make mobile payments via Google Pay—definitely a missed opportunity and unused potential of this device.
Battery: Up to 7 days on a single charge
At first glance, it may seem that with an integrated large, rounded display and a range of sensors for recording fitness activities, the watch can’t offer long-lasting battery life on a single charge. But the opposite is true.
The built-in battery is enough for standard use for up to 7 days. Charging via the dedicated dock will then take about two hours.
We even recorded battery life up to 8 days, but it’s true that we used the GPS localization feature only minimally. This is exactly the technology that can drain the battery excessively, and depending on how you use it, your overall battery life per charge can decrease/increase individually.
Price and availability
Even though the smart watch Amazfit X was initially available only through the Indiegogo crowdfunding platform and mass production still hadn’t been confirmed, you can now find this model in the lineup of well-known international retailers.
These watches, however, are definitely not a cheap product. Their current selling price can reach as much as 300 € / 350 USD with a discount coupon. Still, we expect that their selling price may drop over time.

Amazfit X Review: Final thoughts
The smart watch Amazfit X is definitely not for everyone. In terms of its shape, it resembles an oversized fitness band, and with its features it tries to catch up to full-fledged watches—but in reality, it’s tempting you with something else: innovation.
A curved, futuristic AMOLED display is without doubt the most breathtaking part of these watches. It’s complemented by solid fitness activity monitoring and good battery life on a single charge.
However, the watch has one big drawback: its truly high and excessive selling price, which only real brand fanatics will be willing to pay.
