Google releases them on a monthly basis, and most manufacturers send them to their devices with a certain delay—for example, quarterly.
These patches fix certain bugs that could mean vulnerabilities for your device. You also won’t be able to enjoy the news that Xiaomi brings in its latest versions of the HyperOS custom interface. So you’ll have to rely on the version you already have installed, along with its capabilities and features. The limitations in this regard are therefore clear.
