Another week in the Xiaomi world, but also in the real one, is behind us. In the sixth part of our regular series of articles What Xiaomi is working on, we’ll look at the latest news from the YouPin e-commerce platform, which definitely deserves our attention—but during the week there wasn’t room to introduce them.
More Xiaomi content can be found on our social networks
This week we got an unveiling of an AI book or magazine translator, a smart lock for bicycles, and the cheapest electric toothbrush So White. But that’s not all. We’ll show you the rest of the great products right now.
Mijia battery-powered mini air compressor
One of the most interesting products from Xiaomi in quite a while. The Mijia mini air compressor with a battery was released in huge silence, and it was rather complicated to find information about this new device. We did find it, though—and we know everything about it.
The Mijia mini air compressor can inflate a bicycle wheel, an e-scooter, a motorcycle, but also cars. And not only that. You can also top up an air mattress or a ball—simply anything that has a valve and can be filled with air.
It measures 124 mm x 71 mm x 45.3 mm and includes a battery with a 2000 mAh capacity. Charging is done via a microUSB connector. The manufacturer states that the battery lasts for 11 inflated bicycle wheels, 5 car wheels, or 41 footballs.
On the front you’ll find a display showing the pressure, and there’s also a LED diode for lighting. The construction is made of metal and is resistant to temperature changes—it can work in conditions from -10 to +45 degrees Celsius.
As for the performance of the Mijia mini air compressor, it can generate a maximum pressure of up to 10.3 bar / 150 PSI. At full power it produces noise of 80 dB. Inflating a bicycle wheel completely takes 3 minutes with this mini air compressor; for a car it’s 6 minutes.
The Xiaomi Mijia Mini air compressor hasn’t started selling yet, but its price on the domestic Chinese market will be set at 199 yuan. In an approximate conversion, that’s about €26 / 675 kč. We expect availability through international sellers, with the price for us likely being around 40 € / 1030 kč.
XQIAO Smart X3 Pro treadmill
Another this-week YouPin new release is the new smart treadmill X3 Pro. This product comes from the Chinese startup XQIAO. Previously, from Xiaomi we also got WalkingPad, which is also a treadmill but designed for walking. Its maximum speed was limited to 6 km/h. XQIAO Smart X3 Pro is a real treadmill—for both occasional and professional athletes.
The XQIAO Smart X3 Pro treadmill offers a maximum speed of 12 km/h and has a load capacity of 100 kg. The running surface dimensions are 45 cm x 120 cm; the belt construction is foldable, and the total weight is 39.5 kg.
The manufacturer used a special mechanism that lets you unfold the treadmill and get it ready for training in just 10 seconds. After unfolding, the dimensions are 1570 mm in length, 630 mm in width, and 1150 mm in height. The treadmill is “knee-friendly” for joints, because it includes a system of air shock damping called AirCapsules.
The XQIAO Smart X3 Pro treadmill includes a really modern-looking control panel together with a screen, which shows the basic stats like the distance covered, the current speed, or the number of calories burned.
A nice add-on is a special sensor in the right handle, which after touching your hand starts to reduce the treadmill belt speed. It’s a safety feature for when the runner is running out of strength. Of course, there’s also the ability to connect the treadmill to a mobile app, which works via WiFi.
In the app, you can set the workout intensity or use running training plans. A virtual coach prepares a special workout for you depending on your fitness level. The workout is built so that the “adventure” on the treadmill is effective and, above all, safe.
The XQIAO Smart X3 Pro treadmill in a crowdfunding campaign raised more than 500% of the requested funding. It’s already clear that it will move into mass production. The price tag in mainland China is 1999 yuan, which is about 265 € / 6800 kč.
We probably won’t see this product in Europe, and if it shows up with international sellers, you should expect at least double the price. Individual shipping from China to Europe won’t be cheap.
