The Xiaomi community has shared an interesting render showing their version of the design for Xiaomi’s first electric car. The concept was created by the user Mo Fei. We have a lot to look forward to.
A great design concept
Mo Fei named his concept Xiaomi M1. The Xiaomi electric vehicle features an efficient body design. It looks simple, stylish, and the wheels have a unique texture. If the upcoming model has a similar look, it should be quite easy to attract new customers.
The whole system should be built on MIUI For Car. It will provide intelligent control, autonomous driving, a Chinese voice assistant Xiao Ai, and a large holographic display. The interior feels very futuristic.
Mo Fei also presents a fast-charging system, where with 5 minutes of charging the driver should get a range of up to 1 000 kilometers. That’s a very interesting figure, although we think it’s not quite realistic.
We think other designers will also share their visions for the Xiaomi Car. We’re curious to see what the final design will look like and which body version Xiaomi will ultimately choose.
Xiaomi Auto
As of September 1, the Xiaomi Automobile brand is officially registered. It was announced by the company’s CEO, Lei Jun. The company was founded with registered capital of 10 billion yuan.
Right now, this company is made up of approximately 300 members. More than 20 000 applicants are applying for additional positions. The hiring process hasn’t been completed yet, and they want to bring more people onto the team.
In a recent report, it was announced that Xiaomi is trying to secure a stake in China Evergrande Electric Vehicle so they can assemble this electric car themselves, “from scratch”. We even have information that we could see the final electric car as soon as March next year. That’s when serial production should begin.
