At the end of last year, Chinese Xiaomi introduced to the world its already twelfth generation of flagship smartphones Xiaomi 12. The flagship lineup consists of three models: Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro, and 12X, and according to the latest leaks, a lighter Lite version will soon join them.
Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G will be a new smartphone that combines premium specs from its more advanced siblings with a more pleasant price tag. In this article, we’ll quickly go over all the essential available information about this phone.
Certification reveals details
Before the smartphones are officially unveiled, the most common way we get details is through certification companies—and the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G model is no exception. It has only recently appeared in an FCC certification document.
Smartphone with model designation 2203129G will likely be available in three total memory configurations, namely 6 + 128 GB, 8 + 128 GB and finally the most fully equipped model will offer 8 GB RAM as well as 256 GB internal storage.
Snapdragon 778 or the latest Android 12
In terms of the hardware, we can also expect a powerful mid-high-end processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G, with support for modern 5G networks. In the leaked Geekbench test, the processor scored 788 points in the single-core test and an impressive 2864 points in the multi-core test.
On the software side, the device should come with the latest operating system Android 12 alongside the modern and fast MIUI 13 interface. You can also look forward to an NFC chip for contactless payments and, most likely, a 6.55″ 120 Hz Full HD+ AMOLED display.
Just leaked certification documents suggest that the global release of the phone is slowly but surely getting closer. As for the price, it’s still shrouded in mystery for now, but thanks to the “Lite” label, we can expect a more pleasant price compared to the adult flagship phones Xiaomi 12.
