About two weeks ago, the new family of flagship smartphones from Xiaomi 12S saw the light of day. The most premium model in the lineup is called Xiaomi 12S Ultra, and its specs are a strong contender for the best smartphones on the global market.
We even got this smartphone through the TradingShenzen e-shop, so in just a few days you’ll be able to read a full review focused on even the smallest details. Performance or the display are indeed fantastic on this phone, but the biggest draw is still its beefed-up camera setup.
Xiaomi 12S Ultra compared to a DSLR for 5000 €
On its pages, Xiaomi boasts about camera development in cooperation with the well-known brand Leica. For example, Leica collaborated on optimizing algorithms for cameras and even creating special color filters.
A smartphone with the Ultra badge from the 12th series in the lineup is equipped with a trio of sensors: the main 50 MPx, the ultra-wide 48 MPx, and the 48 MPx 5x optical zoom. Only recently, a Chinese blogger decided to compare the newly introduced flagship Xiaomi 12S Ultra with the 24 MPx Leica M10 mirrorless camera priced at around €5000. The results are more than surprising.
Xiaomi 12S Ultra held its own against pro-grade gear, and in many cases even won. The blogger praised the phone’s high-quality color rendering, a huge amount of detail, and a fast, well-thought-out focusing system. The comparison was published on the Chinese site bilibili.com, which is kind of like YouTube.

Even Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, recently said that Xiaomi 12S Ultra offers the highest-quality 12x hybrid zoom across the entire spectrum of smartphones. In short, the new most premium flagship from the increasingly popular Chinese giant takes truly fantastic photos.
