Lei Jun confirms Xiaomi 13 Ultra for the global version too!

29. August 2022 3 min read 0 comments

The head of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, on social media this time confirmed the preparations for the upcoming generation of its flagship device with the expected name Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Unlike its predecessor Xiaomi 12S Ultra, it will also come in a global version aimed at the international market, including Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra will also be available in a global version for Europe

Xiaomi introduced its 12S Ultra model last month. The Chinese launch revealed the very first device that combines a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and also a 1″ 50 MPx Sony sensor for the main camera, plus additional high-end specs.

This model has become the biggest and most premium device in the flagship series Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12S. Of course, we need to ignore the lineup of foldable devices. But when you buy, you have to rely on international imports. This situation could change for the better quite soon, though.

The information was confirmed directly by Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun

In response to a review from the well-known source Android Central, Lei Jun, as Xiaomi’s CEO, shared his future plans. He confirmed that the company intends to launch the powerful flagship Xiaomi 13 Ultra on the global market as well.

“The next iteration of the “Ultra” smartphone will be available in our global markets!”, wrote Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s Executive Director, on Twitter.

Xiaomi usually launches one or two Ultra device models each year. Usually, it’s a powerful flagship under the main brand Xiaomi. However, there’s also no shortage of “flagship killers” from Redmi. This year, though, the company released only “just” Xiaomi 12S Ultra, and instead labeled the “Redmi K50 Extreme Edition” as Redmi K50 Ultra. This strongly suggests that the next “Ultra” model from Xiaomi is exactly the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra would be a pleasant surprise in the case of a global version. That’s also because we could already see the Mi 11 Ultra on the shelves of our local Xiaomi stores. It’s also possible that the manufacturer originally planned to release the current generation on the global market as well. However, those plans were changed. So we’re curious whether the manufacturer will bring the global version back with the upcoming generation.
