The new premium flagship smartphone as part of the fourteenth series of models from the Chinese manufacturer, Xiaomi 14 Ultra, will be officially unveiled this month at the MWC 2024 exhibition in Barcelona. And we already know the complete specs.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra: 6.73″ LTPO AMOLED and the latest Snapdragon
All the key technical specs are already known. Xiaomi 14 Ultra should offer a design in the style of its predecessor, which will include a massive up to 6.73″ LTPO AMOLED display. It will deliver a smooth up to QHD+ resolution and a high refresh rate of up to 120 Hz (dynamic from 1 Hz).
Performance will be handled by the latest flagship octa-core chip, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The available configurations should offer 12 GB / 16 GB RAM and 256 GB / 512 GB / 1 TB of internal storage. The main processor will then be complemented by security and optimization chips that are being developed “in-house” by Xiaomi.
However, the photographic setup is what matters most. The Ultra smartphone once again comes with support for the development of a completely new optics from the well-known German company Leica. The main sensor will offer 50 MPx (1″ size), and it will also be joined by another ultra-wide 50 MPx sensor.
But we definitely won’t stop there— the manufacturer has also bet on a 50 MPx periscope telephoto lens with a 5-times optical zoom, along with another 50 MPx sensor that will deliver up to 3,2-times optical zoom. Previous leaks also mentioned the presence of a Sony LYT-900 sensor with a variable aperture (starting from f/1.6). The telephoto lens should come with an aperture of f/2.5.
The build will also offer enhanced water and dust resistance with an IP 68 certification. The battery will be 5300 mAh with support for up to 90 W ultra-fast charging. On the software side, there will be Android 14, along with a new graphical interface HyperOS.
In addition, Xiaomi 14 Ultra should also arrive for sale in a luxurious titanium version. It’s a new material that Xiaomi is adding to its portfolio as well. Besides the titanium model, we have confirmed renders of the black version with golden elements and the white version with silver elements, which are also expected to be available on the back cover made of artificial leather.
When does it go on sale and what will be the official sale price?
We don’t know these dates yet, and we’ll learn the official version at the MWC 2024 in Barcelona. However, according to leaks, discount codes for Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra are expected in the amount of €100 or €200, when purchasing through Xiaomi’s official website.
These “early-bird” coupons should lower the sale price. For the Ultra model, a sale price of up to 1699 € is being mentioned (global version, unknown specs), which after the coupon would drop to 1499 €. And that’s also the price where the predecessor Xiaomi 13 Ultra started. Availability of the new smartphones is preliminarily expected already during March 2024.
